This rooster was waiting for the taco restaurant to open at MGM Springfield in Massachusetts. Not just yet, buddy! That, or he saw the train coming east from Worcester and Boston? (I was going back to CT, which isn't these tracks.)
I feel strongly that our nation is a force for good and am proud of accomplishments by our people, like Ruth Bader Ginsburg. May we draw strength from her and be inspired to create a legacy of justice. When I think of the situation in Europe now, I have lots of questions about what is fair. I came out early with a position supporting the interests of all countries - including the Russian Federation, whose people I coined to be "deserving". But what I am forced to do now is reevaluate my allegiances. Are Russia's citizens any less deserving now? No. But what has happened is one country has invaded another: an offshoot of its former glory, the Soviet Union. Ukraine. And what now becomes of the Russian citizen who knows nothing of politics and lives more than 1,000 km from Moscow? He will suffer. And the reputation of his country's aggression will surely follow him wherever he goes. I am not informed. I know nothing of Ukraine. Nothing of their needs, and nothing of their policies. But they chose independence; like the thirteen colonies of the new world who would become what is commonly known as simply America. It is my feeling that power in Russia should carefully and precisely acknowledge that independence or it will be to the detriment of global society. I love my Russia. I love my Ukraine too. I love my wife. And I love my family. I don't want to lose any of them.
