Trump has called for boycotts against numerous companies that were critical of his tactics, such as the draconian election laws that were passed in Georgia after he lost the election.

The MLB pulled its All-Star game out of Atlanta in 2021.

Trump is currently upset with Time-Warner for dropping OAN.

"An Upstate man who led a “pack of rioters” on a rampage through the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 riot is back in jail on charges he tampered with a witness in his case, a federal magistrate judge ruled Monday in Greenville.

William “Robbie” Norwood III, of Greer, had been free on bond awaiting trial on multiple charges.

But evidence in his case, reviewed Monday morning by Magistrate Judge Kevin McDonald, found that Norwood had sent “thousands” of text messages to his estranged wife, whom he was under court order not to contact. McDonald then revoked Norwood’s bond and ordered him confined.

“A review of the small sample of text messages presented by the government in support of their motion and supplemental motion to revoke pretrial release ... reveal that the defendant has attempted to obstruct justice with these communications,” McDonald ruled.

McDonald also ordered Norwood transferred to a jail in the District of Columbia area, where trials for the alleged participants in the Jan. 6 storming of the Capitol are being held."

"Friday marked the first time that the Everetts have been named. The police department has not named the other four officers.

The Washington Supreme Court announced Thursday that it would hear a lawsuit filed by the officers against people who filed public records requests seeking to disclose their identities.

Last month's investigation by Seattle's Office of Police Accountability found that the Everetts violated the law by trespassing at the U.S. Capitol while rioters stormed the building. The police discipline report stated that they also lied about their activities.

Despite the Everetts' claim that they didn't see a disturbance, FBI photographs showed them “directly next to” the Capitol building at about 2:30 p.m. — about 30 minutes after the demonstration had been declared a riot, the police accountability report said.

The officers told investigators that they had no idea that the event had turned violent, the report said."

 

They can claim that, to them, the violence against the Capitol police right in front of their faces looked like hugging and kissing.

Trump has been wrong about Ukraine and Putin at least twice.

In 2016, he said Putin wouldn't invade Ukraine. He was unaware that Putin invaded Crimea in 2014.

He tried to correct himself by saying that he meant Putin wouldn't invade Ukraine again. He was wrong about that also.

Now he can be expected to correct himself again by saying that he meant Putin wouldn't invade Ukraine again while on his watch but not Biden's.

 

Trump made crass statements praising Putin right before the invasion. He should have waited to see what Putin would do. He made the statement during Putin's optimal time to invade: after the Olympics in China and near the end of winter when the ground is firm for vehicles.

Putin invaded Crimea in late February 2014, nearly the same time he started his mass invasion of Ukraine in 2022. If Trump had been better informed about what happened in 2014, he might not have made such shallow remarks in 2022 right before the invasion.

Now Trump (Mr. Ten Steps Ahead) is in damage control and trying to weasel out of his initial Putin-praising statements while not criticizing Putin for the invasion but instead blaming Biden for supposedly making Putin 'driven' to invade..

Trump looks at complex world situations through a narrow cone of what he perceives to be symbolic projection of authority (his latest suggestion to make threats of nuclear war against Russia) and who he thinks he gets along with (Putin, Kim Jong Un, and other authoritarians).

 

Obviously not an expert on global economics, and geopolitics. Your business must be selling lemonade on a street corner, and taking jobs from little kids.

Georgia couple arrested in Jan. 6 Capitol riot

"More than a year later, a Middle Georgia couple has been arrested for their alleged role in the Jan. 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol riot.

Charles Hand III and Mandy Robinson Hand, both of Butler, were arrested by FBI agents Friday after a combination of tips, surveillance and documentary footage, Facebook posts, and electronic signatures from their mobile phones led them to the Taylor County couple. They each are charged with four misdemeanors, including entering a restricted building, disorderly conduct and unlawful demonstrating at the Capitol.

According to court records, the Hands were captured on closed-circuit cameras inside several areas of the U.S. Capitol during the riot, with Charles Hand identified, in part, by his bright red University of Georgia cap. An anonymous witness identified the couple from still images taken from the cameras, and investigators used records obtained from Google to confirm the Hands’ mobile phones were in and around the Capitol for more than four hours the day of the riot, court records state.

The Hands are the 20th and 21st people with Georgia ties to be arrested in the massive U.S. Capitol riot investigation. So far, more than 775 people have been arrested across the nation in the 14 months since a pro-Trump mob attempted to disrupt the counting of electoral college votes certifying the victory for President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris by members of Congress."

I guess trying to overturn the will of the people in an election is what passes for being a good Christian. That's not surprising, though. Banning abortion and gay marriage is all that matters to them, and apparently, the ends justifies the means.

Not a single thing you mentioned is a showstopper to our democracy and to this country. Those issues have been issues for decades, none of these issues are new.
