anyone else have trouble getting used to smoking out of a pipe? and by that i mean harshness of hits. I come from smoking out of cans, where the hits are small, and weak. So when i tried a pipe, i almost died. anyone ahve similar experiences? also, how does smoking a joint compare to a pipe?
I started off with pipes, so I didn't have anything to compare it to. I know the hits were harsh, but you probably get a better high. Get used to this, pipes are so much better than cans. Try getting a bong if you want big hits with little pain.
Yeah, the first time smoking for me was out of a can, and that fucking *sucked*! Gnobs are totally the way to go in my opinion, even though pipes are cool and compact. It just takes some getting used to, try not inhaling as fast, and take your lips off the pipe quickly during a hit to get a quick rush of fresh air, that usually helps, and if the pipe has a carb, use it!
yeah pipes can be pretty harsh at first, but u eventually get used to the feeling. and now i use how harsh my throught feels to figure out how big a toke im taking, its great!
might be the quality weed your getting along with the material your pipe is made out/screeen is made out of. Having a cold drink nearby is really handy too, i like to set some gatorade nearby in case my throat gets a little hot.
I think cans can be harsher, but that's my opinion. I think you'll get used to taking just as much smoke as you need
I used a can , not my first ever time, but the first few. I remember I laughed right before my hit and blew the pot everywhere!!

u got a pic? i have 2 metal pipes, both are a bit harsh on the throat so i rarely use them. id say buy a new piece. bob at showmeglass has inexpensive spoons that are really great(i should know cuz i bought one!) u can use a money order and the delivery takes less then 2 weeks.
