    Hey

I just wondered if any of you got the condition PUPPP (pruitic urticaria and plaques of pregnancy) or PEP (polymorphic eruption of pregnancy) as it is better known here in the UK during your pregnancies? Only I have this crazy itchy rash all over my bump and it is driving me mad, especially during the night. It started nearly two weeks ago and it seems it could last for the rest of my pregnancy. I'm currently 18 weeks and 2 days. I just wondered if any of you Muma's had any recommendations to ease the discomfort? At the moment I'm using Aqueous cream.

Thanks and trying not to scratch, Love and peace

one of my friend's had it when she was pregnant and her midwife told her to stop taking her prenatals vitamins, because your skin is directly linked to your liver, and a lot of times the giant amounts of iron in prenatals causes PUPPPs. I would definitly ask your doctor/midwife first though, before doing anything like that.

Now that's really interesting as I have been taking the multivitamin Pregnacare and my midwife said that my iron levels were high. I'm taking them mostly because I don't eat red meat and didn't want to get anaemic!

Thanks for the advice, love and peace x

yes, it is usually related to liver toxification... my midwife recommended a supplement but i cannot for the life of me recall what it was. i only had mine for a few days-- until i went into labour, and it came back all scary and full force for a month and i had to go on prednisone. :( I'll try to find out what the supplement was; i bet my husband will remember.
