I like candlepin bowling over ten pin.

The bowling balls are smaller, the pins thinner, you can bowl 3 times in one frame, and you don't have to wait until your bowling ball returns.

    That's great @Angelmama !!!

I did about the same, but I was taken bowling under the influence of some LSD. The lanes were not straight at all.

    Never went back again LOL!

Well, now that I think about it, that might have been part of my problem too... I was living near UMass, and buying yellow submarines for 75 cents each, since they were being made in the chemistry lab there...

    Yellow Submarines, how funny!

Remember when you could go to a concert for Dollar Fifty?

Yes. I saw The Beatles in 1966 at Shea Stadium for $14.95. All four of them, with Bobby Hebb (of Sunny fame). Now it's over $250 to see just Paul!
Last time I dropped acid was in 1990--(with my kids on a school trip to Washington, I had the house to myself)-- and it was something called Window Pane. Stuff was pitiful. Took 2 doses because the first one did so little. Nothing like the old days, though it cost me $7 per hit! Back in the 60s it was under a buck and one hit had you flying for 10--12 hours! Kids now don't know what they're missing.

I regret not having been at Woodstock. I had planned to, but my mother locked me up to keep me home. Had I known what a big deal it was going to be I would have found a way, but it was just supposed to be a little music festival. Still, if everyone who claims to have been there really was, it would have been a crowd of millions!
Woodstock 2 was a joke. I know a couple people who were at the original (the people I was supposed to go with), and it was a beautiful thing. The second Woodstock wasn't like it at all; sandwiches selling for $15 each, water also costing a fortune, purses stolen-- a shame. At the first, anyone who had extra food shared it with others, and some folks brought stuff to give away. Purses and bags were left on blankets untouched, and the people--the true beautiful people-- helped one another whenever possible. The so called 'neo hippies' were a pale imitation of the original hippie folks. So sad.

OOOOo--window pane! I bought 65 hits for 100 bucks in 72'and it was REALLY GOOD! ( I have stories!) First time I ever bowled , I was about 18 years old and was a good athlete. I bowled 180. I thought --"hell , this is gonna'be easy. I've never bowled over 120 since!!

Never had any windowpane until that time in 1990. It was yellow submarines or sugar cubes before that. Maybe it was just better back then. When I did have it, it was pretty weak. It wasn't a habit anymore; I was raising my kids and being responsible! Plus, it was $7 a hit!

That was a weird night. I was alone, high on acid, listening to Abbey Road. I heard a cricket and thought that was strange; all the windows were closed, for one thing, and it was February. I thought perhaps the cricket was in the firewood pile beside the woodstove, so I went over to check. Nope, nothing there. It sounded like it might have been from closer to my chair.
Finally I realized that I wasn't hearing the cricket ... couldn't be. I'd been wearing headphones! I put it down to the acid; an auditory hallucination. Once the record was over, I started it again. Suddenly, there was the damn cricket again!
Turns out it was on the record. I'd been listening to that record for years, but never with headphones on, and that was the difference. I always must have just ignored it, being out in the country where crickets were common. Now, with the headphones, I noticed it and was going nuts trying to locate it, having forgotten I was wearing the headphones. By the time I had it figured out an hour had passed and I went on to Rubber Soul. No cricket on that one.
