Am I the only one that doesnt love this band? Everyone always tells me how good they are and stuff, but i just dont see anything special in them. My friend is trying to tell me that they are so good and original and stuff, but I'm just not feelin it. Any comments?
I like them, but they're not that far different from a lot of stuff I've heard. Although, thinking about it, they're kind of different. Hmmm. Basically, I just contradicted myself and now I have no clue! It's interesting stuff anyway.
i think at the drive and mars volta both suck. my friend got obssessed with thema nd downloaded all this crap on my computer. mars volta sucks major league ass.
two of the three times I've seen them play live, it's been a life-altering event. The other time was just average but it wasn't awful. I like them a lot more than At The Drive In or that other Sparta band...
also, it seems like alot of their lyrics are just random words that they just throw in to make it sound good. Like, if you analyze what he is singing about, it really is incoherent. Or at least it seems that way to me.
nah man, if you really understand the lyrics, they're brilliant. plus, it's a nice break from the typical "i love you so much" songs or the "my life sucks so bad, i sit in my room and slit my wrists" songs. i think their lyrics are very thought provoking.. i'm speaking of ATDI, there. and i also think sparta is an amazing band.
Personally I think they're one of the best bands of the last few years. I can see why people wouldn't like them, but if you give them a chance they will end up blowing you away. I feel in love with them after the break on the first song of the first album
