I'm so excited, today is my b-day and my folks got me a serger! I'm so crazy excited, you guys are gonna be seeing sooo much stuff from me now, lol
well happy birthday mama.. and a fucking serger..that rocks!! i just use my mothers stuff..someday i hope to own my own machine and serger... ROCK ON.. i can't wait to see ur creations..

But it would be nice to have one at home so I could work there. I have dreams about having a wonderful sewing room set up complete with serger and embroidery machine.... DROOL... A serger is sewing machine used to make the edges of the seams finished so that they wont frey. If you look at the seams on your clothes it should be a loopy stitch that kind of encloses the edge of the seam. That was done with a serger.

Happy Birthday. And have fun with that serger, i wish I had one. I want that sewing room like redfraggle was talking about.....that would deffinitely rock. my sewing machine is set up in the spare bedroom, here with the computer. It's nice than what I had before in other places I've lived, but floor and working space is still very very limited. It get's annoying when I'm working on something larger, and have shit everywhere!!! All my stuff is pretty much against one wall of the room... finished peices, in progress peices, fabric up the wazoo, i don't know what to do with it all. I find so much fabric at my local thrift store for super cheap, so I'm always bringing like, 3 or 4 new fabrics home to play with, but don't know what to do with them for storage. I have one plastic set of drawers for fabric, and it's overflowing, and then theres more on top, and on the floor next to it. I'm gonna have to do something with all this crap on my next day off...a nice clean, organized working space is vital for the good vibes of my new creations.
