What is with man's inhumanity to man?? Have we learned NOTHING from our past??? All the wars that have occurred, the things we're taught in school, from infancy, where did compassion go? Can we get through this? Are love and understanding strong enough? I hope so. What do you think??
I think awareness puts you one step ahead of the game. I know a few people who are compassionate and non-judgemental. They live happy simpler lives, some are hippies some are not. Either way I know they are happier than the ignorant people who are cruel to eachother. If you think about only humans have the capibility to be so cruel to one another. You never see a cat torture another cat. The only reson they kill is out of necessity. Where did man go wrong? Can they go right? - PEACE:H
The very fact of your post proves we have learned something - because you, and millions of others can see what the deal is, in a way that in past times just wasn't possible. If you see that there's something wrong, you can rest assured that you're definitely not alone in that! The best thing really is to try to maintain a positive outlook - that's a very important basis for real compassion and love. Negativity quickly turns to cynicism. Thats part of the sad tale of history. If we want love and peace to work, we have to try to make it work - in our own lives first, and see what we can do, even in small ways to improve things.
I'm gonna let John Lennon do this one: "Give peace a chance, and remember Love. The only hope for us is peace. Violence begets violence. You can have peace as soon as you like if we all pull together. You're all geniuses, and you're all beautiful. You don't need anyone to tell you who you are. You are what you are. Get out there and get peace, think peace, and live peace and breathe peace, and you'll get it as soon as you like." - John Lennon
Oh yes... I believe people need to learn from the past and they often need to look at the things that are obvious so they can learn from past mistakes. Though, a lot of things are just logical to me. I like your thinking.
you really cant control other people, you just have to better yourself, save yourself, to be part of the solution, you have to stop being part of the problem. just focus on that, and once you get good at it, you find ways to make small positive changes in your surrounding environment. you really cant worry about "the world" or "people" because its out of your sphere of influence. you only going to drive yourself crazy that way, and trust me, it takes along time to get centered again once you drive yourself crazy.
