@stormountainman I am a former evangelical that spent way too much time reading the opinions of people who interpret End Time Prophesy like these people. I am glad I escaped it, When Christianity becomes nationalism there is something gone wrong - the thing they seem to forget is there is no mention of the United States as a super power in the last days - but Russia and China seem to be there - yet, look at Russia now... struggling to make a takeover sccessful of another free country.
Trump's pick for U.S. Senate seat in GA.. Newt Gingrich Mercilessly Mocked For Hot Take On Herschel Walker excerpt: "Earlier this week, one of Walker’s sons ― conservative influencer Christian Walker ― publicly called him out. “You’re not a ‘family man’ when you left us to bang a bunch of women, threatened to kill us, and had us move over 6 times in 6 months running from your violence,” Christian Walker wrote on Twitter. Despite that, Gingrich talked up Walker as a “remarkable person” and praised his confidence. For some reason, Gingrich also brought up Walker’s health. “He’s been through a long, tough period,” Gingrich said. “He had a lot of concussions coming out of football, he suffered PTSD.”"
Ga. Senate Candidate Herschel Walker Slips in Polls Following Latest Bombshell Allegations excerpt: "Even in the face of scandal, Walker has chugged along in his campaign. Prior to this week he was sitting at an average of only 2.1 points behind Warnock in polls, according to election tracking site FiveThirtyEight. Then fresh polls dropped on Wednesday, which surveyed likely voters during the timeframe that Walker's campaign began imploding. One B-rated poll conducted by InsiderAdvantage on Tuesday showed Warnock leading Walker 47% to 44%, which placed Walker within the margin of error. But an A-rated poll conducted by SurveyUSA over the past five days put Warnock 12% ahead, alluding to a dark cloud looming over Walker's head in the final weeks of the election."
Herschel Walker won the GOP primary after skipping debates. Walker is a close friend of Trump. https://www.usnews.com/news/politic...est-skipping-debates-without-upsetting-voters
Walker's competitors were qualified relative to him, yet had little chance in the GOP primary. Walker won the primary by a margin of about 55% over Gary Black. Article from May 2022. Ex-RB Walker wins Georgia GOP Senate primary excerpt: "Walker defeated five fellow Republicans: Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Gary Black, former Trump administration official and Navy veteran Latham Saddler, retired brigadier general Jon McColumn, contractor and Air Force veteran Kelvin King and former state Rep. Josh Clark."
Trump sounds off on state and federal probes at conference for Latino conservatives excerpt: "MIAMI — Former President Donald Trump complained bitterly about the investigations he’s facing in a speech Wednesday, accusing his successor, Joe Biden, of “destroying the rule of law” and neglecting deeper problems the nation confronts. Speaking at the end of a conference aimed at building Latino support for conservative policies, Trump devoted a chunk of his address to his legal difficulties involving sensitive records that he took from the White House to his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida and a separate lawsuit filed against him by New York state prosecutors. Trump said that in searching his home in Palm Beach, which doubles as a private club, investigators treated him differently from past presidents going back to George H.W. Bush. All were shown more deference in how they treated their records upon leaving office, Trump argued. “Now the failing Biden regime wants to start investigating me, and the only reason is because I’m leading everyone in the polls, both Republicans and Democrats,” said Trump, who has sent strong signals that he plans to run again for president in 2024."

Alabama man convicted of federal charges for role in Jan. 6 attack excerpt: "An Alabama man was convicted Wednesday in federal court for his role in the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, the Justice Department announced. Russell Dean Alford, 62, of Hokes Bluff, went through Capitol doors broken by others and remained inside the building for 15 minutes, according to evidence presented at his trial. He later posted videos and photos taken inside the Capitol on social media. Alford, who owns a body shop in Etowah County, was found guilty of four charges in federal court in Washington, D.C.: entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds; disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds; disorderly conduct in a Capitol building; and parading, demonstrating, or picketing in a Capitol building. When the Alabama man was interviewed at his business by FBI agents on Jan. 20, 2021, he told the agents, “I wondered when y’all were going to show up. Guess you’ve seen the videos on my Facebook page,” prosecutors said. He was arrested March 29, 2021 in Birmingham."
Oath Keepers man says he was looking for porta-a-potties for the impending riot. Oath Keepers’ Jan. 6 Recon Guy Says He Was Just Looking for Port-a-Potties excerpt: "The trial of right-wing militia group the Oath Keepers went straight into the toilet during the first day of arguments. An attorney for one of the five defendants charged with seditious conspiracy for their roles at the Jan. 6 Capitol riot said in court Monday that his client’s trip to downtown Washington one day before the violent event was not an illicit reconnaissance mission aimed at preparing to thwart the peaceful transfer of presidential power. It was just an attempt to make sure the area had enough toilets so that his client, Thomas Caldwell, 68, could find one during a big political gathering, the lawyer said."
He could have qualified that by saying they were making sure there were enough outdoor toilets for members of Congress to use after being violently kicked out of the Capitol by rioters.
Trump's latest delay tactic over Mar-a-Lago documents may not work for him at the Supreme Court | CNN Politics excerpt: "Unlike his frequently more florid and fantastical legal gambits, this one is narrow and legally nuanced – far smaller than a possible broader attempt to test an ex-president’s scope to claim executive privilege or some kind of claim that the search on his home in August was illegal. Instead, Trump wants the court to ensure that more than 100 documents designated as classified are included in a review by a third party official known as a “special master.” The ex-President has every legal right to take such a step. But it’s also the case that Trump’s team has repeatedly sought to slow down the Justice Department’s classified documents probe in the courts, which reflects his characteristic desire to postpone accountability. In this case, any delays could push it closer to a possible Trump 2024 presidential campaign and fuel his claims of political persecution. But, just as in other recent filings by Trump to the Supreme Court, the tactic may not work, according to legal experts. There is no guarantee that the court, already being dragged deep into politics, will perceive this case as bearing such vital constitutional or legal importance that failing to take it up would be a dereliction of duty. Even if it decides to hear the case, the court may move more swiftly than Trump hopes. Justice Clarence Thomas, for instance, on Tuesday quickly gave the Justice Department until 5 p.m. on October 11 to provide a response to Trump’s appeal. And Trump could simply lose – even if he persuades the justices to take the case – since to get emergency relief he must prove that he’s suffered irreparable harm in the matter, a threshold many legal experts believe is a stretch."
List of what the FBI seized at Mar-a-Lago that was accidentally posted on the docket unsealed. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2022/10/05/trump-fbi-search-documents/ excerpt: "Reviewing the list itself, though, we get a good sense of the breadth of information that was present at Mar-a-Lago. There are documents related to grants of clemency, to endorsements, to legal fights, to policy proposals. At times, the documents are cryptic. We’ve done our best to clarify where we can, but we might not have explained everything."
Mar-a-Lago Documents Included Pardons, Emails, Legal Bills excerpt: "The thousands of documents seized from former President Donald Trump’s Florida home included a mix of government, business and personal affairs, including analysis about who should get a pardon, call notes marked with a presidential seal, retainer agreements for lawyers and accountants, and legal bills, according to newly disclosed logs created by federal investigators. The detailed lists of seized materials were attached to a recently unsealed Aug. 30 report from the Justice Department. A judge had ordered the logs stay under seal but they appeared to be inadvertently posted to the public court docket. They’re no longer publicly visible."
Yes, and they keep talking about Babylon which has been a pile of rubble and abandoned for two thousand years.
These are only poor abused political prisoners.....maybe some time lounging on the GITMO beach in the sun will lead to some rehabilitation of their troubled souls. I'd hope the would also include some state and local charges to their convictions so in case lightning strikes (or doesn't strike the right place) they can't be offered a full presidential pardon. Throw in an 'malicious aggravated DC parking ticket' or something.
I honestly fear for the outcome of this election with so many far--right election deniers running and possibly winning. I fear for the survival of our nation's democracy after Trump did what he did for 4 years plus since then.
It will still come down to getting the young, students and minorities out there to vote. Since we make it increasing difficult for half of those people, you may be right. Why so few of the vocal and rich right get heard the loudest.....it's always about who spends the most money on TV and shouts untruths the loudest.
