"The former US president’s privilege assertions over the folders, which appear to have direct relevance to the criminal investigation into whether he retained national defense information and obstructed justice, are significant as they represent an effort to exclude the items from the inquiry and keep them confidential.

Most notably, Trump asserted privilege over the contents of one red folder marked as containing “NARA letters and other copies” and a second, manilla folder marked as containing “NARA letters one top sheet + 3 signing sheets”, a review of the court filings indicated.

The former president also asserted privilege over 35 pages of documents titled “The President’s Calls” that included the presidential seal in the upper left corner and contained handwritten names, numbers, notes about messages and four blank pages of miscellaneous notes, the filings showed."

By comparing the unique identifier numbers for which Trump was not claiming privilege with the inadvertently unsealed list of potentially privileged documents, the Guardian was able to identify which documents the former president was seeking to withhold from the department."

 

The DOJ has already asked the 11th Circuit to end the external review of 11,000 seized documents.

The 11th Circuit granted a fast track response to the DOJ.

Paxton is contending that he didn't know the person who was serving him the subpoena and acts like he fled for his safety.

Paxton received a number of notifications in the days leading up to the person trying to serve him the subpoena. He was aware of it.

 

Texas attorney general who tried to flee abortion subpoena ordered to testify

"The Texas attorney general, Ken Paxton, must testify in court in an abortion lawsuit after a federal judge reversed his decision to quash a subpoena filed by pro-choice interests.

Reproductive rights groups filed a class-action lawsuit against Paxton’s office in August in an attempt to stop possible prosecution of abortion funds that help women seek the procedure outside Texas, which has banned almost all abortion.

US district judge Robert Pitman granted a motion from lawyers representing abortion rights non-profits, which asked the judge to require Paxton to testify.

Pitman had previously ruled to quash the subpoena upon Paxton’s request on the basis that he could not be compelled to testify in a hearing as a high-ranking government official.

Emails from the lawyers for the abortion funds show they tried repeatedly to serve Paxton through his attorneys before the hearing."

 

Docs undermine Trump's attempt to blame federal workers for MAL docs

"A new report from Bloomberg News significantly undercuts an attempt by former President Donald Trump to blame the General Services Administration for having top-secret government documents stashed at his Mar-a-Lago resort.

During assorted public appearances, Trump has asserted that the GSA was responsible for packing and shipping boxes of White House records down to Mar-a-Lago.

But documents obtained by Bloomberg through a Freedom of Information Act request show that the boxes containing the top-secret documents were already packed when the GSA arrived to take them to Florida."

 

Someday soon he'll be tossed into a prison cell.
