Trump insisted on having a special master in the Mar-a-Lago case, but that call is increasingly backfiring
Another issue: Trump, as a former president, is claiming executive privilege (that current president Biden denied) from the executive branch itself, and for a situation that involves potential criminal activity by him about documents that belong to the executive branch. It's along the lines of stealing from a store and later demanding that prosecutors not be allowed to observe the stolen property because the thief might have put his name on it, which gives him some sort of inalienable privacy right. Or the thief discussed the stolen property with his attorney which invokes attorney-client privilege to the extent that no one else is allowed to observe the stolen property.
If this is their plan, why is this election cycle even close? Anyone in support of this plan should lose by double-digits
Maybe they'll bring in the Obamacare death tribunal squads. We'll all have to die young and broke from medical care. Remind me to save my pills.
Yeah, off with you to your 14 day sentence and $500 fine and you can keep your pension and free federal health care.
If only Trump and his cohorts like Eastman could have for every case Judge Cannon who would override crime-fraud exceptions to attorney-client privilege and executive privilege.
Last week was bad for Trump. He's having another bad week. He had to be deposed for the Carroll lawsuit Trump received a public backlash for his comments about U.S. Jewish people supposedly not appreciating him. He lost a bid to change the judge in the NY James case. Judge Carter ordered incriminating Eastman emails to be turned over to the Jan. 6 committee. The special master demanded beef from Trump. John Durham lost another trial in his quest to try to revise the history of the 2016 Russia investigation in favor of Trump.
