I'm really interested to see if you guys have noticed changes in your local climate over the last 10-15 years. (Please only say if you've lived in the area for at least that there is a good basis for comparisson)

For me in SoCal, after watching this last series of storms come in it occurs to me that when I was younger storms would always blow straight in from the North-west, always with low clouds. The storms of the last few years have been changing progressively into storms which circle in (like a tropical storm), usually proceeded by very high altitude clouds the day before, which never used to happen.

oh my goddness yes, it never used to rain in the winter, it's rained so much here this winter it doesn't even feel like winter this year. one day it rains the next it's warm and feels like spring might actually come then it snows again, what the hell is happening.

In my lifetime, we never got much snow in the winter. When I was a little kid, we got more, but for the last ten or so years, the first snow is late (after christmas, much to my mother's dismay) and never much accumulation (besides one big snow a year, usually). This year we've gotten a lot of snow, I don't know what it means, but I have noticed that it has been wetter in general (last May was incredibly wet, broke the record, there was a lot of flooding in the area). Also, the summers when I was a boy were always very hot, but the last few years seem to have been cooler, especially last summer.

i havent lived here very long, but the locals tell me that the summers are drier and the winters are wetter.

water restrictions are going to begin 2 full months earlier than they ever have before.

i never really used to pay attention but it seems like the bugs are here throughout the winter when they never used to be. apparently in the interior it hasn't ben cold enough to kill of the pine beetles or something either so maybe it isn't just me being inattentive of the past

In January was broken tempereture record (it was nearly 15°C(=59°F) It was still few degrees above zero even in early mornings. But now it's F***** cold. This morning was -20°C(=-4°F)! Weather is crazy this year.

When I was like five I remember playing in the snow, like really big snows and the last big snow I remember was probably at least six years ago. And my grandmother is always talking about how much it use to snow twenty or thirty years ago and how it never snows now. You get my point. It doesn't snow. lol

I've lived in the Blue mtns practically my entire life...which hasn't been for very long :p and I remember in the Summer it was always warm but it was never as hot as it has been lately. People from Penrith and other hot areas near by always use to come up here in the Summer for a brief refuge....lol, now we also need air conditioning...which also helps with Global Warming? My...aren't we humans clever?

Four hurricanes last season. That hadn't happened here in over 100 years.

I dont think its changed much here. I guess we've had a hotter summer in the last couple of years, but that said we've just had a very cold couple of weeks. It could be argued that we're getting more extremes over the past couple of years. But a decade barely counts as a trend for geographical surveys.
