Hello, just wondering if any of you know the technical term for "cherry" as in my cherry got popped? I don't really like using this saying. Also when you lose your virginity that doesn't necessary mean that your cherry is popped right? I know I sound quite uneducated but I am a bit confused, I overheard a friend talking and they said that just because you have sex it doesn't necessarily mean that your cherry is popped and that if your cherry was popped you would bleed for 2 or 3 days. When I had sex, I didn't bleed. So I wasn't sure what to think of this, anyway any info. on this topic would be appreciated. Thanks

that would be the hymen, and the action would be breaking the hymen.
not everyone bleeds when they first have sex, and the hymen could be broken numerous other ways first, before they first have sex, through exercise and so on.

    peace!

nitemare's right, it's talking about the hymen.

there are lots of ways that it can break before having sex..
that's part of the reason some bleed more than others when they lose their virginity, whereas others barely bleed or don't bleed at all. you can also bleed from sex after that, if it's stretching open further, or the penis is bigger, etc. if you've already had sex, your cherry has already been popped, maybe the hymen broke before sex, but after sex its no longer intact no matter when it broke.

Of course you can have your hymen broken and still be a virgin. Some girls have very thin hymens which just stretch. A lot of young girls will rupture their hymens playing with themselves while young.

There are also situations where the girl has had sex and still has an intact hymen. I had a freind who this happened to. She thinks "we didn't do it right." But in any case, it was quite a few tries before she actually ruptured her hymen.

The hymen and virginity are not always related.

Some of us are born without hymens. I didn't have one.

The first time I had sex I bled just a little bit...but the third time I bled alot. So it all depends on the person. I've never heard of anyone bleeding for 2 or 3 days at a time because of it though.
