Trump will probably want to have the Secret Service give him a joy ride around the courthouse in front of his fans the day of his arraignment.

The police plan to have roads around the courthouse blocked and without parked cars the day of his arraignment.

One would have to reason that the best defense should he pardon himself would be the will of the American people, no? As intelligent voters, we would rebel against the actions of a president who knows nothing about government and politics.....and in 4 years of being POTUS had ample opportunity to learn but never found it necessary, preferring to govern by obeying his 'gut' feelings as to issues that affect the entire world, ignoring advisers who are employed specifically to help him with this stuff. Surely, the American people would realize that the act of a president pardoning himself reeked of the actions of an authoritarian, a tyrant, an autocrat, a despot or a dictator......and we don't want that in our democracy, right? Hell, no!

    *****************

Okay, now let's wake up and talk about what goes on in the real world.

The thing is, I remain baffled since 2016 that the U.S. could elect a man like Donald Trump to the highest office in the land. (But he's a TV star, dude!!) Foolishly, I never believed it could happen......but it did and that's why the notion of a POTUS pardoning himself for crimes for which he was convicted doesn't sound so far-fetched, does it? Yes, millions of folks would condemn the action.....but millions of others would swoon in admiration for the man they put in office because he (1) talks tough (2) he fights or (3) because he's the Republican (which is the only factor they consider when voting)

Hey, if this is the type of president you want, why make him stop at being an authoritarian, tyrant, autocrat, despot or dictator? If he gets in again in '24, you know he's going to try and find a way to get this country to install him as president-for-life, don't you? This way, he wouldn't have to bother with silly distractions like campaigning and elections to keep himself in power for the rest of his life.

Do you doubt that? Well, I sincerely hope we never get a chance to find out.

Meanwhile, why stop at dictator? Why not make him the first king of America? Can't you just hear his voters getting wind of that and declaring:

'Hey man! Yeah!!! King Donald I. I like that sound of that! I mean, like s--t! Why the f--k not? Yeah, like wow!!

The worst thing about the Trump prosecution is not weather it is over reaching, or appropriate, but that the matter is sucking all of the Oxyern from the Office of Manhattan District Attorney.
New York has a crime problem that needs the attention of prosecutors. Instead we have vanity fair.

Asa Hutchinson enters 2024 presidential race, says Trump should drop out.

    Asa Hutchinson Announces Presidential Bid

“They’re asking tough questions,” he added, “but it’s not about the political dynamics of Trump.”
