I cant wait, my "soon to be" husband guy just bought tickets for my birthday present!!!!!!!!!!

Smilefest 11 is gonna be May 27-29, 2005 (Memorial Day Weekend) at Deerfields in Mills River, NC. Just 20 min or so from Asheville.

Confirmed artists so far are.... Bella Fleck,Drive By Truckers, Acoustic Syndicate, Larry Keel & Natural Bridge, Barefoot Manner, Lotus, Dub Conscious, Cadillac Jones, Infradig, Mood Cultivation Project, & Jen & the Juice.

I hope to see many of you there, it is great, like a big phamily reunion every year!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Were bringin both my kids, hopefully there will be another kiddie parade this year. It will be differnt as it isnt at Van Hoy Farms but I think it will work out just as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i saw barefoot manner at a club in richmond and theyre pretty damn good I think...

I'm going to Haymaker and I wish they were playing there...but enjoy Smilefest, I have only heard good things about it....

 

Excellent call on the Barefoot Manner, mazzy...I hope they get back to Richmond soon, due to the good response they have gotten there.

A WONDERFUL band...

If the right people saw Barefoot Manner, they'd be Rock Stars...They combine elements of bluegrass with rock and roll and funk and Caribbean reggae influenced rhythms to make this wonderful medley... Tons of original songs, and incredibly varied setlists...

I love some Barefoot Manner, and as the virtual "house band" of Smilefest, I'm hoping they get a nice late-night time slot...

I would be really surprised to see UM on the Smilefest bill, especially after their "meteoric" rise in popularity over the last year, and the accompanying price tag that comes from being the current "IT" band in the jamband scene.

I know Smilin Bob (head honcho of Smilefest), and this is surprising to me...

Of course, I'm no expert...

Bob is full of surprises... But UM at Smilefest 11 would definitely be an "unexpected surprise..."

The baby is out and my wife just can't stop talking about airing out the tent I'm telling you there will be a big ass black guy dancing with his big ass brown son to some music way tooo late at night. My son just doesn't like to sleep till about 2:30 am so at least I'll be up and well entertained.

Aw yes my one concert a year and it is going to be a beautiful time.

As for the meet up it might be nice to know someone else around the more parenty part of the party. I think i'm going to look for a quiet spot so if the party gets too much for my little guy we can just slip away from it.

Grassroots now there is a nice happening that just happens to early in the year for me. I would love to be shaking my booty down to karl and The tiny Universe this friday but time and money are both to short atthe moment

I've been toying with the notion of pawning something and getting Mitra to go with me. but you know how it is when you are married it ain't one ticket but two ad then a sitter and what if the other isn't as grooving off the vibes as you are?

Things were easier single but still better now.
