I believe dogmatic adherance to beliefs (fundamentalism) is the cause of all problems. Plenty of people are too uptight and need to loosen up and realax, but fear of stepping out of line prevents it happening. In this universe there are no boundaries that are not man-made. The universe is objective proof of the creators intent ~ open, free, expansive, nothing hidden, everything attainable, nothing forbidden. All of the rules stem from mankind. I much preferr the way of the universe to the way of mankind. Compare the two. Where is war and intolerance found in nature? Yet it is always found in man. So for me the principles governing the universe are the principle by which I now live. The 'principles' governing mankind are sorely lacking. Proof? ~ take a look at the world stage or history! I once adhered to religious orthodoxy and practice. I 'believed' just like the rest of them. But I really devoted many years into connecting personally with "god" because sermons lacked substance, were invariably religio- cliché speak bereft of experiential understanding, and so I sought to find where the religion originated because the words never resonated harmoniously with the nature they purported to represent. Hollow words. Like the drivel dished out at funerals where it's obvious to anyone the priest/minister is just mouthing words from a book he hopes is right witrh fake reverence. No conviction of certainty have I witnessed at any funeral I've attended. Yet there is supposed to be, and the religion is supposedly based upon certainty. What I discovered was the opposite to what I believed, but there it was right before my eyes and true, waiting for me to discover it. Just like "god." So I sought to learn more about it. Things began happening slowly. Very slowly. But any faster and I may well have rejected everything outright citing dogma, scholars, or texts X,Y,Z etc etc which is the way it goes when belief over-rules reality. I know it because I lived through it. I was one of them. But that's the way of the universe ~ How perfect it is! By living through it you understand the machinations and motives so much better than you ever would by theorizing. And that was what disturbed me with the religion thing ~ the amount of theoretically assumptive analysis disguised as 'scholarship', 'theology' or what-not that amalagmates into "belief" or "faith" or "church" where contradictions are explained away and reality denied on the basis of doctrinal acceptance/non-acceptance. Reality such as sexuality, open-mindedness (acceptance/intolerance) for example are strictly governed in and by religious dogma despite the fact that it is human to be human. Despite the fact that we are a species with heightened sexual stimulii, and that's the way we were created. The "god & satan" thing just doesn't cut it, because it relies solely upon acceptance of a dogma from a book the validity of which no-one knows anything about. It's wholly a "belief" thing. Anyone who wants to believe, can. But problematically, anyone who doesn't believe, can't! Laws are made, structured, and altered to appease such dogma & dogmatics. I believe this is happening right now in the USA with what is termed the 'decency' laws that remove the right to wear clothing of one's choice, or speak in a way one chooses to speak. But that's another story, so "later" on that one, maybe. Once one steps outside of the belief, a whole new world appears. It is like one was once blind, but can now see. Like one was once lost, but is now found. It's quite amazing really. Especially when, in seeing with eyes that see, one can see the dogmatics industriously shoring up the beliefs from never ceasing and inevitable leakage like beavers in a pond. Just damming up what would otherwise be a beautifully natural flow. It's all so simple, really. So here I am being me... me and the universe... together
I disagree with this. What is man? Man is an animal, so man is as natural as anything else. As are his most primal actions. War is constant in nature: a predator stalking and killing its prey; a plant soaking up all of the nutrients effectively killing surrounding, weaker plants; MAN invading a country to obtain needed resources; or robbing another man to feed himself, his family, or to support his drug habit. Contexually different, but bound by the same Motivation: Self Preservation I don't know exactly what you are talking about concerning the freedom intended by this creator. IF strictly speaking of Nature, then boudaries are many, as far as the Laws of Physics go. I wish I could fly. If you are looking at society from a naturalistic viewpoint, a perspective without 'moral' concerns and thereby an existence of complete liberty, consider the function of morals. Morals exist to protect the weak. Without this Unnatural creation of man we call morals, we would be in a state primal self preservation, survival of the fittest, human vs human vs everything else. Fashion Fascism.
I disagree that war is a self preservation thing. It is entirely aquisitional as far as mankind goes. For the defenders of a system, self-preservation may well be an issue, but it is not driving motive of war. War is defined as a quarrel between nations conducted by armed forces. Nations are defined by artificial boundaries imposed by humankind. The natural order in nature has no such artificially inspired boundaries. That the weak are overtaken by the strong is a law of nature, not a law of warfare. Natural forces are not the boundaries being alluded to, and any "boundaries" in nature are entirely perceptual. You'd like to fly? ~ read Carlos Castenada's book "The Fire Within", and find out how. Boundaries such as assumed protocols are barriers to freedom. All of nature is freely explorable, however false protocols under the guise of "morals" and "law" forbid exploration of aspects*of human nature. (*NB ~ provisional that no other person is hurt in the process) Morals are assumed protocols. Morals have no bearing in society other than to mask the inconsistencies upon which society operates. War, for instance and racial prejudice that hid behind the law and "christian morals" in the USA until the late 1960's ~ less than 40 years ago! Without a doubt true! But what about the fascism that determines "morals"?
