Well, for sure you can catch herpes if the person has any kind of cold sore or outbreak in his/her mouth at the time.
yes, herpes can be transmitted from mouth to genitalia. Particularly during an outbreak, but herpes can even be transmitted when there is no outbreak. Rare, but it happens. Plus if htere were any cuts in the mouth, that person could get aids etc, if present in the other person. std tests don't hurt - go get one just to be sure, better safe than sorry n'est pas?
