I'm uncut and don't know anyone who is I don't think it's been very common in the UK for a long time, I know I met a girl from the U.S. in the late 80s and she was fascinated by my foreskin.
When my oldest son was born, I did not want him circumcised because of my experience growing up... however, my father-in-law pitched a fit over it. He was the kind of man that rarely pushed his beliefs on others. On this, he was adamant. My wife was persuaded by his insistence that we don't make the mistake of not circumcising my son. So, it was done.
I had my speech all ready to go for not cutting any potential grandsons....but looks like that won't be necessary. My wife was angry that I would have butt in, but baloney, I would have had my peace with it. I truly regret that we did that to our son - but we didn't know any better - everyone did, everyone was. I didn't even see my first foreskin until I was about 35...It's there for a reason, mankind has survived millions of years with it. Most of the world's men are uncut and doing quite well.. No doctor can tell at birth how his butcher job would look 16 years down the road or how much damage it did or how much sensitivity it would lose by 50 as it turns into leather. I have 4 brothers, we are all cut, Dad never was. I mentioned it to my older brother once, jokingly, he said who did these, anyway, Mom with a dull kitchen knife??
