Trump could be in a psychiatric ward in 2024 talking gibberish nonstop and the GOP voters would still want to vote for him, and perhaps in ever higher numbers.

Trump's recent change in stance of saying he is now in favor of federal restrictions on abortion goes against the grain of what happened in Ohio's special election.

The rest of the GOP will need to figure out how to promote that type of stance which pleases the religious right and somehow also please pragmatic voters, such as suburban housewives whose lack of votes for Trump in 2020 contributed to his loss in swing states and the election.
    .

GOP attempt to stymie abortion in Ohio backfires spectacularly

The threshold to change the Ohio constitution has been 50% for over a hundred years without the GOP complaining about it.

After Roe v. Wade was overturned, the GOP wanted to change it to 60% to try to stop abortion rights from being added to the constitution. The GOP lost.

As someone who lives in Ohio I am so glad the GOP lost this issue.

Texas is using a similar underhanded tactic by selectively disenfranchising democratic strongholds by making it more difficult to vote in Harris County, which contains Houston.
