Today >3/03/05<, I am supposed to leave for St. Louis at 6pm for an NFL >national forensic league< competition. For those of you who don't know, it's a speech competition with various categories. Nehoo, the day before, I had to get up at 4:20am, and I had a severe nasal congestion. Then I had to go to a morning soccer practice, leave 30min early, go to a speech practice, then go to all of my classes. By the end of the day I was completely worn out. I began to get chills througout the day, horrible ones, and I felt very weak and disoriented. My pace had slowed down completely. Usually, I will run up the stairs and skip a step..but today it seemed like it took me forever to get up the stairs.

I stayed home from school today, but I feel bad about not going to the NFL competition. This could be a very important event in my life, but instead, it's pissed away to an illness. Should I go anyway and just tough it out? >has 5 hours left to decide this< I'm afraid that, because of my illness, I won't be at the top of my game, and will end up being disqualified. This would therefore make the whole thing pointless. Secondly, I had gone to a huge nationwide band competition last Christmas. An illness overtook my body halfway through the trip. So, I know what it's like to be sick and have severe stressfull competition. I wasn't a very happy camper about it. At that point, my mind was completely off the physical demands of the trip, and on being home, asleep, recovering from my illness. If this happens at my NFL competition, then i'm just asking to be disqualified, which isn't what I want.
