Those are just the additional charges against Santos filed in October. He already had a slew of criminal charges against him. In spite of that, the GOP has been sticking with him (like they've been sticking with Trump who has 91 felony charges against him).
Chesebro was following Alex Jones during the Capitol riot and was in restricted areas without permission. Kenneth Chesebro, alleged architect of fake electors' plot, followed Alex Jones around Capitol grounds on January 6th | CNN Politics image:
Some of Trump's attorneys are fringe, such as Sidney Powell. Others like Chesebro could be considered less fringe but nonetheless became absorbed by Trump, his fringe attorneys, and his other associates. The psychology of how that happens is worth studying. It's a phenomenon similar to how Trump was able to quickly radicalize thousands of people to descend on the Capitol.
Trump's campaign-style press gatherings in the courtroom hallway. Trump isn't accustomed to restrictions. That's beginning to test the legal system excerpt: "Lawyers typically tell criminal defendants to stay quiet, knowing prosecutors can use any utterance against them. But Trump has turned the camera-lined hallway outside the courtroom into his own personal campaign stage, holding impromptu press conferences multiple times a day as he enters and exits the room. He also broadcasts his grievances on his social media platform, where he regularly slams Engoron as “a Radical Left Democrat” controlled by New York Attorney General Letitia James “and her Thugs.” Gurule said courts are hamstrung in trying to punish Trump the way they would normal defendants because of his position and personal wealth. A $10,000 fine is unlikely to deter someone as rich as Trump. And while Engoron floated the possibility of holding Trump “in contempt of court, and possibly imprisoning him” for further violations, jailing an ex-president who is under Secret Service protection would present enormous logistical challenges, in addition to the grave political implications of putting a leading political candidate behind bars. The absence of meaningful consequences raises questions about whether Trump’s prominence has allowed him to exist under a “different standard of law” than other defendants, Gurule said."
The new Speaker, Johnson, is as irrational as any of Trump's other cohorts (Lindell, Giuliani, Flynn). Were there baby dinosaurs on Noah's Ark? New House Speaker Mike Johnson worked for organization that pushes extreme creationist claims excerpt: "To put it plainly, the new Speaker of the House ensured that Kentucky sales tax revenue would support a theme park that claimed Noah’s Ark saved the dinosaurs from a flood that happened on a planet that was 10,000 years old."
Trump has dodged questions about his stance on abortion. His previously dodge was that he was confident McCarthy would present him a great bill about abortion that he would sign. Now that McCarthy is gone, he has to say that about Mike Johnson.

With the legal help of Mike Johnson (now Speaker of the House), taxpayer money from the people of Kentucky was used to help finance the Noah's Ark theme park that displays the ark that saved the dinosaurs from about 10,000 years ago (the ones that never existed anyway because God planted dinosaur fossils in a 10,000 year old earth to trick people into thinking they lived when they didn't).
Trump's legal team is arguing absolute immunity again in the federal January 6 case. He says his acts related to overthrowing the 2020 election are justified because they are on the outer perimeter of his duties as president. He justifies that claim by saying that he truly believed the election was stolen from him. Trump invokes 'absolute' immunity in attempt to toss Jan. 6 indictment, teases SCOTUS fight
U.S. House member Mo Brooks tried that argument and lost. In his case, he said trying to overthrow the 2020 election was on the perimeter of his duties as a House member. Books went further than Trump. Brooks used that argument to try to have the DOJ protect him from lawsuits filed against him by those who were injured during the Capitol riot. Trump could go further and ask the DOJ to defend him in a criminal case filed against him by the DOJ.
