Hi all can anyone help me please so basically probably for the last 20 pulse years I’ve have been very nervous to go barefoot in front of people not sure why I don’t like people seeing my feet. I would like to over come this as iam going to Florida, next April for the first time ( Iam from the uk). I also think feet look weird. Can anyone help me please
What is the purpose of you wanting to go barefoot? Remind yourself of why when the time comes to do it. Secondly, start off small. Thats what I did. I would go to the store at 6am where seeing others is very very minimal. Itll get you used to the atmosphere without anyone else seeing you. I would gonin flip in flops until you are used to people seeing your feet. Focus on what you're there for vs. Focusing on the assumptions of what others are thinking. Few weeks ago my first time actually shoe/sockless in the store I passed people by, ever exchanged greetings, and noone even noticed. A few day stockers did. But I had shopping cart in front of me vs nothing. You can also try that. Lastly, thing I did, was get up, get dressed and walk out the house as fast as I could before giving my brain a chance to say no, go get your shoes. Once I am on the road I feel I have no choice at that point. Not gonna waste time and gas turning around and going home to grab a pair of shoes. Florida is hot and very very humid. Its weather alone is going to have you wearing minimal clothing as it is. Good luck
Hi James, I've got some good news for you. People are normally not interested in your feet. Some may notice when you're not wearing shoes but they don't care. Good luck!
Really are you sure I don’t wanna start wearing open toe shoes and people going omg you you got no socks on that’s not like u.
James you should just go barefoot who cares what other people think or say . Just think how good it feels to have your feet free from shoes and socks.
I suggest starting somewhere where no-one knows you. Take off your shoes and put them in your bag. Walk. One day you will leave the bag behind and do it anywhere...
Do it first somewhere where you know you won't run into anyone you know. I for example go out super early in the morning when my store just opens because I know everyone else is sleeping in on a hangover, or just sleeping in because it is the weekend lol. Once you're more comfortable with it, then ease into it around friends/family. For me it is coworkers, but I haven't placed myself in that situation. It is all about doing what you are comfortable with.Take it slow, don't just jump right into it, unless you are that brave/confident.
What store were you in... Do you live in an area where bare feet are well tolerated? You're bound to be bounced from some place at some point, so get ready for that inevitable confrontation...
Sounds like so far, you've had good luck! It would be awesome to live someplace where you wouldn't be hassled at all...
I go really early. From what I have noticed in this particular store is 1 of 3 things. 1. Employees are socializing with each other 2. They're on their phones and 3. They are so wrapped up in their job they aren't paying attention to me. Plus I am always pushing a shopping cart, so someone would have to really be looking hard to notice.
Since this past summer I have embraced being barefoot as often as I am comfortable doing so. When I can’t be barefoot I don’t wear socks and I wear lightweight canvas shoes. When driving I am barefoot and I frequently walk a mile or more barefoot. I have thought about stores but haven’t so far. I have several times based the truck up barefoot. I will eventually walk barefoot in either Kroger or Walmart.
I always drive barefoot and I do go barefoot at Walmart, Costco, gas stations and fast food places barefoot and one of my favorite restaurants barefoot . The barefoot lifestyle is awesome I have been going barefoot for over 32 years and I’m barefoot all year around even in the winter time and we get a lot of snow where I live I even go camping and fishing barefoot . This was on Sunday and we have another storm coming tomorrow I can’t wait for more snow to go barefoot in.
