This is a show meant to be a comedy but leans more towards being a soap opera. Frasier Crane being pompous. Frasier is the ego, and the sole remaining member of the original series. No one else could stomach the thought of doing it over again...just Kelsey Grammar. They sure try hard to get a laugh but instead you want to cringe at the banality and predictability of the story. I won't go into details, but put it into the category of yet another redo of an old TV series because nobody has anything new to think about except impending doom, gratituous violence, war and politics. I am sure you may have thoughts of your own? Perhaps some sense of nostalgia?
Kelsey Grammer has great communication skills. His comedic timing is spot on... but you really need to know Frasier from the origins to get it all. Funny, I'd almost forgotten he used to hang out in a bar too much many years ago... lots of history in this sitcom.
The only problem I am having is their insistence bringing past characters into the new show. I'm not sure how they brought Lilith back, but they need to stop dwelling on past shows if they intend to succeed. They've even brought up Cheers a few times.
