came to me one day in this manner:

    breath/spirit sustains Life.

now who taught me how to breath?
or can i teach someone else how to breath?

is not breath(spirit) a gift, received from the Giver of Life?
if so, if breath is a given, will not the Giver of Life supply
all we need to sustain The Life HE has given us?

    so why take we thought?
why don't we receive as we believe?

a walk of faith, hand in hand with simplicity.

oh, to lose our minds....... what a blessing!

peace, even as wars(spiritual/carnal) rage....... francisco

breath is an involuntary reflex, like a heartbeat

You hold your breath. You hold your thoughts. You expel your breath. You expel your thoughts. Do you know all of the things that trigger the expulsion of an idea or its formation?

It's true, in many languages the word for breath and spirit are the same (eg: latin "spiritus" Greek "pneuma" Sanskrit "prana"). Even some in english, like "respire" which comes from latin words meaning "to breathe again (and again)", the "breathe" part identical with the word for spirit. Same goes for "inspire" (to breathe into (as from a god)), and "expire" (to breathe out (one's last breath)). (http://www.etymonline.com/)

If you think about it, in the bible, God breathed his spirit into man, giving him life. Breath is sacred in this sense. It is the only bodily function both reflexive and voluntary. Breath is the bridge.

i have to say thats ^^ a stunning picture. i was wondering about controlling heart beat as well. there was a magician who used to make it seem to two nurses like he had different heart rythms on either wrists pulse, but i think he did it with sound or rythm manipulation. he was asking them to make motions with theri hands to the rythm and someone was effecting a sound for that off stage.
I mean you can medidtae deeply enough to slow it right down...and have cellular breathing /respiration. without having to breathe inout with the lungs for some time as an achieved monk or something. BUt control is n't what i'd associate to heart beat, i reckon it would be more of a dramtic percepetion change in time, and even then it would appear normal to others.
if you could control your heartbeat where would the mystery be?
whats this you heard about being able to control it if i can ask? i'm very intriegued!
