I was toking on my pipe beside my opened windows, and I turned on the news and heard wild news. In North West of edmonton 4 RCMP officers were killed while tryign to stop a cannibus grow op. Which is a major step backwards for mAry jane's movement in Canada! I hope the police doesn't get any ideas about enforcing the issue more. What do you guys think?
I think you forgot to tell us what happened w/the open window? and what was the blunder? do you call the slaying of four ppl a blunder? I think that is a grave tragedy all around. Do RCMP carry guns?
lol no, they are the fucking igloo police. what happened basically is the guy had a restricted automatic rifle, and when the cops came in, the guy was hiding and setup a sort of ambush and killed all of them because they did not think there was anyone in the home it's a bad day for the RCMP, worst tragedy since 1890
Canada must be a damn peaceful place, if 4 dead officers is the worst in over 100 years. Wow... But yeah, it is a tragedy, sorry to hear it.
yea its sad....and we are peacefull... i live in a city of about 85,000 we have had 2 murders in the 4 years i have lived here. and i think calgary a major alberta city had like 12 murders all of last year
Yeah, its weird how many homicides there are in major US cities compared to proportionally sized canadian cities. It just shows how different our cultures are... or how sick one is more than the other. Bowling For Columbine talks about this, pretty good film.
It was RCMP and the Edmonton Police force. they guy was fucked in the head, he killed himself.I think edmonton has had like 10 homocides already this year LoL , Im sure its a bit less I dont keep track.
Actually I think this might be a step forward. This would not have happened if it weren't illegal (like someone said). Making it legal, and sold through people who aren't insane and carry guns could be a good reason to start a legalization campaign. Marijuana should not be grown underground and sold on the "black market" it should be available to all, and without fear of crazy gun weilding men.
being leagl i dotn think is the answer....making it not criminal is ok for me...i think if its leagal its just somethign that would be government regulated...and have the shit taxed out of it...like cigs...have u bought an 11 doller pack of cigs in canada lately...if ur lucky and smoke cheep ones u can get them for 950 and they used to be bucks....6 dollers in tax have been hadded in 4 years... i really dotn wanna be paying all that extra for pot.... and right now....with me being able to have a half oz on me with not much worrie....im alright with how the llaw is up here at the moment.....
Wow, that's really cool to know. I figured the murder rate would be significantly less up there, but I didn't know it would be THAT less.
wow. I don't think that guy growin pot had much to do with him being wacko. he was just nuts thats all.
the same exact report as the bloke who said, "no, they're the fuckin igloo police." they said guy was known for a criminal past and psyche ;imbalance + he had an illegal weapon and fired on the cops before they knew it + guy was found dead and police say, "he acted alone." goodjob on factual reporting bloke! ver;y sorry for the Canadians saddened by this bad news.
RCMP carry guns.... we have like 2 kinds of polices in most provices....city police and Rcmp. RCMP potrol highways and rural areas and towns. city police do the citys...but there pretty much the same and all. ontario also has the OPP. i dont know if other provinces do as well
yeah i was stoned wheni wrote that and was tryign to craft my words according to what i thought made "sense" -- so i may have been vague. I never stated the magnitude of the blunder soo chiiillllll brother. Anyhow, my only fear with this is that it may fuel stricter enforcement of marijuana. I mean I smoke joints walkign down fat cat queen street [ heart of toronto] with not a worry hanging on my shoulders. That's what i love about canada. And about making it legal, I'm sort of torn on the subject. Having it taxed is just a complete rip like nikki mentioned.
I read about this in the newspaper yesterday, and I think that the way they narrated the story, it'll be a major step back for the legalization movement. A lot was written on the "dangers" of marijuana, and this case was used to illustrate how bad weed is in general rather than how bad weed is when it is illegal. Go figure.
Well BLOKE, where did i say anything that contradicts ANYTHING your trying to prove? i was offended because ppl think the RCMP, the official police of canada dont carry guns
not all cities have city police. the largest city in Canada [Surrey] Has RCMP and not a local police force
I didn't mean any bad feelings. here's an article in the NYtimes if you're innerested. http://www.nytimes.com/2005/03/05/n...5583&ex=1110171600&pagewanted=print&position= As long as ppl aren't afraid of the truth we should see a more rational approach to marijuana which may include tax but it would be better than the u.s. lockin ppl up for life and all the violence & bullshit.
