I only know of one 70s rock band from Ireland but they are amazing! This band called Fruupp - Anyone heard of em? I guess sorta like Genesis but really, they are very unique! Oh yeah, mellow candle is a folk rock band from Ireland, early/mid 70s. Anything else?
I've never heard of any Irish classic rock bands, but if you find some more let me know. Sounds really cool!
I wouldn't call the Pogues classic rock. They Pogues are more traditional folk song played with rock instruments on top of traditional instruments, with an unavoidable punk element thrown in as a result of Shane MacGowan being off his face the whole time. Bloody good band though!
D'oh! How could I forget Van Morrisson!!! Haha. Yeah, early U2 is good too. My bad, its Fruupp. But still might not return anything. Try soulseek, thats where I got it.
