Lord of the Rings is an all-time classic, I've read the first two books but not the third (yet). My favorite subjects are Stoic philosophy, religion (particularly Catholic and Buddhist classics), abnormal psychology, fantasy/sci-fi (I'm a bit picky), and literary classics (especially Russian literature).

The Galactic Federation for the Milkyway Galaxy is called the Galactic Federation of Light, but some of the races represented in our GF may call it by other names, hence the difference in the names given by the Zetas, Andromedans, etc. Each race, civilization, and planet has a council within the GF to represent them. These councils vary in size depending on population as well as the amount responsibilities they carry within the management structure of the GF. I was just reading about the UK's first coal fired power station, built in 1882. It was in a row of shops. It first provided power for 968 lamp posts in central London, increasing to a total of 3,000, each providing 180 Lumens Today we have around 7 million lamp posts in the UK, each providing between 2,000 and 20,000 lumens. Fortunately, unlike the earlier gas lamps, no one has to go around with a box of matches every night and light them.
I like a lot of books on food history, as well as memoirs from trans folks. I also love books on things like plate tectonics and geology, as well as biographies of my favorite musicians and comedians. I like a lot of social history and pop culture related things. And, for some reason, the science of earthquakes lol
Such variety of interests! I do like hearing about these things... I am endlessly obsessed with SciFi space operas these days myself
