he would have split the vote. its happened before when independent canidates are close enough to one party or another.
An apology to the world -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tuesday, November 09 2004 @ 08:37 AM MST Contributed by: nancymarie Views: 437 November 3, 2004 Dear world: We wish to extend our deepest apologies to you for re-electing George W Bush. We know how much you were counting on us to send Bush packing. Like you, we hoped to see a man leading America who did not refer to the Spanish language as "Mexican" or ask foreign leaders if they "have blacks here too?" Please understand- there were at least 55,436,312 people who did not vote for George W Bush; 49% of the voting population. We donated money, we hung signs, we knocked on doors, we registered young people, we turned out record numbers to vote. But in the end, it turned out that a majority of American voters preferred warm-fuzzy lies over cold-hard truth. Bush aides accused their detractors of being members of a "reality-based community," a statement which might imply to some that Bush is part of a "delusion-based community." Please know that those of us living in reality based communities all across America were likely as shocked as you to learn that we were outnumbered by 4 million delusional crazies. So to other nations, we say "sorry." Sorry that we elected ignorance, arrogance, and greed over intelligence, civil liberty, and peace. Sorry that we elected a failure of a man who could not name a single mistake he had made and can not speak his own native language. ("Is our children learning?") Sorry we have pushed you away. Sorry we pretended like we were the only country on the earth that could make decisions. As we proved November 2, 2004, we're not very good at that. It's been a growing problem of ours since November 6th of 2000. There was a time when America served as a symbol of hope, strength, and freedom in the world. To the world we say do not lose hope in us. Together we can make change a reality. It will be a bumpy ride, we know. Still, we are all God's children, and we all share this wonderful planet. George W Bush doesn't understand these things. But in four years, it won't matter because we are going to take back our country and everyday between now and then we will work to restore your faith in us. To the 56 million voters who cast their ballots for John Kerry : Do not buy into the idea of a silent minority. Instead, believe in a loud, mobilized, educated electorate. There is a battle being fought on our own soil. Let this be a call to arms of progressive principle and activism. Do not let it dishearten you. Stand up and speak out for your ideals and our future. We have come too far in the last 234 years to start moving backwards now. To our military veterens, their families, and our soilders serving around the world, we honor you. We honor your sacrifice and unwavering patriotism. To the rest of America, remember : love of country is a wonderful thing. But why should love stop at the border? Blah blah blah, this election was rigged. If Kerry wanted to win so bad, he'd be pushing for having all the votes in Ohio counted.
Good letter, but like said above, the 'election' was fixed. We didn't reelect Bush. He simply took a second term from us.
Did you not read the letter? It's posted right in this thread. Only your post was pointless if you don't read the thread.
After the links did not work, in my haste I somewhat lost the plot and mistook the later copy for a reply. Silly Me.
