Hello how are you doing ? I would like to inform you that I have started a Yahoo! Groups forum. It is designed for anyone who likes to read and want to become involved in a reading group. If you or someone you know is interested in becoming a member, anyone is welcome to join. I would like this to be a success so if you can pass the word along to anyone who is interested, that would be a plus. Anyone who joins will be involved. Feel free to post any ideas on how I could improve it to make it great. I welcome anyone's ideas. I hope that you check it out and I hope to hear from you soon. Hey! Thanks for noticing the message I posted. I am sorry to hear that you have had problems with yahoo. I am trying to build a good member list so that it will not fizzle out. The idea is for the members to run the group and to have an active voice to keep it going. If you know anyone who is interested pass it along.
Hello!! This is your official invite to join THE READER'S GUILD. I am glad that you have decided to take an interest in the group, and I just wanted to give a little info about it. The group at this point is small, but your membership and participation are the key! Because it needs to grow!! ANYONE can post messages, upload photos, or even live chat with other members of the group. Each members input will be important, and I hope that you will spread the word to anyone you think would be interested. The active participants in the group are the key to success!!! Hope to hear from you soon!! Check out my webpage at www.geocites.com/enatho/themindvortex.html http://groups.yahoo.com/group/thereadersguild/
If anyone has any questions about the group, I would bw happy to answer in order to provide more info, and I am also open to comments and suggestions on how to make it grow to be successful!
I would like to thank anyone who has joined the group. It has been doing very well. I'm sorry to say that Blackie was not interested and that a good oppurtunity was missed. I hope to see more of you all to join the group in the days to come. I am currently seeking people who wish to be moderators to help out with the group. here is the link in case you need it. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/thereadersguild/
Hello! I would like to introduce a new forum called Just about Anything. It is just a general discussion, off-topic type of forum. It’s brand new so naturally I need anyone who wishes to be involved. You can plug your own site also. It has a topic for just about anything you want and new ones can be added upon request. Anyone who becomes moderator can add their own also. Check it out and see what you think! Here is the link: http://enatho.proboards46.com
Hi there, I'm really interested in reading and I love the idea of a book group. I've been trying to start a physical one in the area where I live but response has been really slow. Anyway, I've joined the group but being not very internet savvy, I'm not really sure what to do. Do we all read the same book and discuss it? If so, how do I find out which book it is? Or, is it that we all read different books and discuss those we have in common. Sorry to be so stupid and to need everything to be spelled out... Sharon
Thanks for joining up Sharon. I can honestly say that I’m glad that you asked questions about the group. As the saying goes, the only stupid question is the one that’s not asked. LOL. To answer your inquiry in detail, the book group is an online book group where you can discuss ANY book that you would like to share. We have a monthly book of the month which in which a book is submitted by any members who wish to nominate one. A book poll is later set up towards the end of each month so that everyone can have the opportunity to vote on the book that they want for that month. Thus giving us the book of the month for that month. If anyone chooses to read the particular title, then they can post any comments or share any thoughts about the book. You can also do a variety of things like post articles that you may read and want to share, or anything else of that nature. We also have things in the group to do for extra fun, such as the group has a photo album in the Photos section, where you upload photos or artwork that you may enjoy. If you have a favorite link or web-page, you can post it in the Links section also. It’s just a great group of people that can come together, and actively participate in a reading group. Everyone is really friendly and gets along really well. I hope that I have cleared up any questions that you may have had, and if have any more, feel free to ask. Thanks!
I’d like to help you out the best I can Blackie. Proboards passwords can be a little interesting. May of the people who have registered have had success though. The way it works is that upon registering you are sent a default password to your e-mail. When you log in for the first time, you use that password to access your profile. In the profile, you must use the default password at the top box. You then put your new password, in the new password box. If this still does not work you can always use the default password to log in. If you continue to have problems, let me know and I can straighten that out for you any way I can. Thanks!
Sir Rueben, I apologize for going off –topic. I will remain on-topic from my original thread. I did reply to a post from Blackie, but I will leave it at that. I very much enjoy this forum, and I plan to be able to continue enjoying it. I do not mean to cause any issues. Thank you.
