The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians has open a Medical Dispensary, Great Smoky Cannabis Company, on tribal lands in Cherokee NC. The dispensary opened on 4/20 this year. The tribe is considering adding recreational products to the dispensary in the future. As of now only medical dispersion of cannabis is allowed and only those who are residents of NC with a medical card can purchase product. As I know it there are now 45 tribal owned cannabis retailers in nine states across the USA.

Last fall tribal members overwhelmingly voted to support recreational use, From what I've read it will be up to the ECBI Tribal Council if, how, and when rec weed may become available. Only time will tell.
