Since May of 2020, ( George Floyd ) the laser like focus on crime by right wing sources has helped to decrease mass transit ridership to the point where NYC is now taxing autos that enter the business district to replace revenue. Loss of population, property devaluation, business losses and resulting loss of Congressional seats and Electoral College power might all be partialy attributed to crime coverage in right wing media.
