Imagine if congress was just 20% libertarian they could block any the nonsense from the red and blue teams that trample our rights. Police state nonsense from the right and nanny state nonsense from the left all blocked. They could never pass a bill unless it got liberty approval. We don't need a libertarian majority. Or the presidency to vastly improve things.
Our data, which draws from and builds on the invaluable work of several other country indexes, suggests that the best path to prosperity is the same across the world: through political, economic, and legal freedoms. Citizens in countries ranked as “Free” are thirteen times as wealthy as those in “Unfree” countries, according to our indexes. And that’s not the only way they’re prospering. They’re also happier, healthier, and part of more inclusive societies—all in tangible ways that we can measure. https://www.atlanticcouncil.org/in-...ed-freedom-to-achieve-prosperity/#methodology
Scandinavian countries seem to have found the best way to run governments for the benefit of their citizens----according to the citizens that actually live in those countries. So it is said---but what the hell do they know--a stiff dose of libertarianism would straighten those clowns out a hurry!
Those nations are socialist democracies, correct? Whatever they're doing over there, they seemed to have figured it out because those countries are also among the happiest on earth
Americans have been voting for whoever advertises the most for well over twenty years. Libertarians demand everything for free.
I guess so. Not so sure they lack it. You must be an American who has never traveled. You have never saw a beer vending machine. That one is from Norway. America is the only country that does the show ID 21 to drink thing in the entire world. It encourages binge drinking and made problems worse. America is the worlds leader in mass Incarceration not Scandinavian countries. You don't even know what Libertarianism is Libertarianism - Wikipedia Its really not your enemy.
I agree, although libertarians have also done a good job of attracting weirdos. Not that it isn’t a little refreshing, but voters aren’t looking for a comic strip on their ballot. I had high hopes for Gary Johnson, but he crumbled and fumbled when he was about to make a run onto the “big boy” debate stages (which is another separate pet peeve of mine). Plus they hang out with AnCaps, and while I do not, as a general rule, like to make wide sweeping statements about groups of people, every single one I have met has been insufferable. To that end, while libertarianism is my preferred political party, I’m not dogmatic and am flexible, and I think the first hurdle is to break the grip of the old parties. I’ll vote Green despite not being on board with their platform just because it’s a third party. We would overall benefit from any third party competition or representation of any kind, while the demicans and Republicrats continue to demonstrate their commitment to maneuver them out the back door or use them as a way to manipulate elections to their own ends (see RFK’s getting booted off the ballot in NYS).
That’s kind of a straw man most libertarians are not anarchist small restricted government not no government
