lol. I haven't had that mirror experience yet and I don't know what I would do, if I did.
I actually don't use mirrors much though.
I shave in the shower - I know where my face is lol - and the big flow of water reduces the need for shaving foam etc.
I fix my hair (if needs be), in the car mirror where I can only see my hair and not my face.

I think you revealed a lot when you originally asked if MIL was overreacting, but left out the very most critical details. The impression you give is that you’re either a player who selects facts to your own benefit, or you don’t understand what facts are relevant in family relationships. That said, she was wrong to invade your privacy, assuming you’ve not left out other details that might show she didn’t intentionally do this. Also, you have poor computer security practices that need addressing. For example I think all computer operating systems allow creation of a guest user who wouldn’t be able to access your files. As for whether it was wrong to have these pics, everyone is entitled to their own private kinks and fantasies, but your lack of candor makes me wonder if you didn’t secretly hope she found them. That alone isn’t wrong but also reveals that you might need to work on your skills in sizing people up. Unless you enjoy the family drama, in which case things have apparently worked out fine.

I'm going to question the premise that someone asked to use your laptop, in her own house, where she must have electronics of her own. I mean, if she wanted to know whether rain was in the forecast, and she didn't want to go get her phone or her own tablet/laptop/etc., she'd just ask you to look it up for her. In any event, she wouldn't end up in your files.

People sharing a house, whether permanently or as guests, may share a printer or a large-screen television, but they don't share laptops.

Forget about the reaction. The premise that it even happened seems contrived.
