As a retired economist I can truthfully say dismantling the Fed or the FDIC are among the most absurd ideas I have ever heard. No, they are the most absurd. They preserve order and fairness in the economy and would put our Nation in peril. And put the US at a disadvantage with the rest of the civilized world. Might take other countries a while to stop laughing and scratching their heads tho.
Fiat currencies are here to stay. That’s a given. Having the government pay interest on printed or, nowadays, electronically created money is a circular, parasitic scam.
We'll see what happens when Bitcoin destroys the value of every other kind of currency (including gold). Should be quite interesting to observe.
Maybe a return to individual State currencies would be a good thing. Return to a gold standard to accomplish interstate as well as international trade.
I say back to the Articles of Confederation! Our Constitution was a usurpation! Completely unconstitutional! And a national bank? Where does it say Congress has the power to have one? Just cuz John Marshall and the other Commies on the Supreme Court said so?
The Articles of Confederation governed the 13 original states and left Governance of the other territories to themselves, affording them no protections.
