https://www.politico.com/news/magaz...tary-immigration-domestic-deployment-00195609 excerpt: "But 28 years later, when the police killing of another Black American, George Floyd, sparked sporadically violent protests nationwide, then-President Trump openly considered using firepower on the demonstrators, according to his former defense secretary, Mark Esper. Trump asked, “Can’t you just shoot them? Just shoot them in the legs or something?” Esper wrote in his 2022 memoir, A Sacred Trust. At another point Trump urged his Joint Chiefs chair, Gen. Mark Milley, to “beat the fuck out” out of the protesters and “crack skulls,” and he tweeted that “when the looting starts, the shooting starts.” Esper wrote that he had “to walk Trump back” from such ideas and the president didn’t pursue them."
Trump has a history of machinations that surfaced briefly but weren't pursued significantly until years later. His running for president is one of them. He had inklings of it in the 80s'. He ran for president briefly in the 90's. Then full force in 2016. His quest to own Greenland is another example. First in 2019 briefly and now in 2025 more authoritatively. It's not known if he will pursue his recent quests to take over Canada, Greenland, and Panama. During his first term, the few rational people around him would try to stall until he forgot about crazy quests. Trump would start another one and his staff would try to wait that one out also. His quest to have Mar-a-Lago host a world economic summit is an example. One of his officials frustratingly said that they had just got him off his quest to coerce Ukraine to do a smear campaign on Biden by withholding money. Right after that, he started another brush fire about a proposed economic summit at Mar-a-Lago.
John Oliver offers to pay Clarence Thomas $1m a year if he resigns from supreme court excerpt: "Oliver alluded to all of those circumstances as he extended his lucrative offer to Thomas, saying: “Lot on your plate right now, from stripping away women’s rights to hearing January 6 cases … and you deserve a break, you know, away from the meanness of Washington. So you can be surrounded by the regular folks whose lives you made demonstrably worse for decades.” The host suggested that Thomas could upgrade his “favorite mode of travel” by signing a contract requiring him to step down from the supreme court in exchange for $1m annually from Oliver along with the tour bus, which is outfitted with a king-sized bed, a fireplace and four televisions. Oliver joked that Thomas possibly feared that making such a trade might attract negative judgment from one of his top benefactors: the Republican mega-donor Harlan Crow, who was reported to have maintained a private collection of Nazi memorabilia that included a pair of paintings by Adolf Hitler."
My guess is that he’s rebooted their ancient popularity and they’ll do anything to stay on that wave. Maybe he’ll do his dance and jerk them all off at the inauguration. Nope, I wouldn’t be surprised.
If Dershowitz is upset about that and thinks it's unethical, he should be upset about Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas sending smoke signals to Judge Cannon in July 2024 that he thought Jack Smith didn't have legal authority to prosecute Trump. It was an unnecessary remark that didn't pertain to the presidential immunity ruling. But Thomas said it anyway. About two weeks later, Judge Cannon dismissed the entire documents case against Trump, which she could have done at the start when the case was handed to her by the DOJ a year earlier. But she foot-dragged the case and eventually dismissed it completely just after Thomas' remark.
Article about shortcomings in the real world of the 'no tax on tips' compaign ploy. Other options include a more general promotion of higher wages through increased productivity and an increase in the standard deduction to avoid only a small group of tip earners reaping a benefit. Regardles of how taxes may be cut, the issue of how to pay for the tax cuts remains. Politicians on the campaign trail don't talk about it. Trump and Congress ran up about $8.5 trillion in national debt during his first tem. Frustrated with Tipping? No Tax on Tips Could Make It Worse
Trump selectively used his no tax on tips ploy during the 2024 campaign to help garner votes in the battleground state of Nevada where places like Las Vegas have a higher percentage of service workers who receive tips compared with other parts of the country. His rallies in Las Vegas had signs that said 'vote for Trump for no tax on tips'. Any promises Trump has made about taxes on tips would need to be passed by Congress first.

In New Film, Former Trump Attorney Details Struggles of Conservative Lawyers excerpts: "In the new film “The Eastman Dilemma: Lawfare or Justice,” he argues that lawyers who defended President Donald Trump and other conservative figures after the 2020 election faced harsh penalties for questioning election integrity—penalties he believes would not be applied if those on the left made similar claims. Eastman, a former law professor, gained national attention for advising Trump on constitutional challenges to election procedures in several key battleground states following the 2020 presidential election. He has faced both disbarment and criminal charges related to his role." Partied w. Feilipe Rose, (The Indian ) a few times in Asbury Park, at the beach. Great guy. Told me of his back story. Welcoming. Hey, they need to get paid right?
If the Village People have sense, they will demand being paid before the event. People expecting to be paid by Trump afterward for providing services for him need to think again. Trump is known for not paying people and making excuses that the work was shoddy or he wasn't required to pay in the first place, like all the police security bills he hasn't paid for his rallies.

When Trump's victory became clear, online claims of election fraud quieted excerpt: "By the time the polls opened on Election Day, baseless claims of voter fraud had been building on social media for months, fueling doubts about the integrity of the election. Posts proliferated on X and other platforms pointing to hiccups like technical issues with voting machines, power outages and spelling errors on ballots as examples of a supposedly brewing conspiracy. And at 4:30 p.m. on Election Day, former President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social that there was "a lot of talk about massive cheating" in Pennsylvania — which officials said had "no factual basis whatsoever." But as the votes were tallied and it became clear that Trump was on his way to a decisive victory, the deluge of posts questioning the integrity of the election fell to a trickle, researchers say. "I think this shows that these narratives are pushed when they serve a purpose, and they are stage setting often for efforts to dispute unfavorable results," said Max Read, a senior researcher at the Institute for Strategic Dialogue. "And then once that stage setting and those claims are no longer needed, they're not pushed anymore.""
Trump has always been trying to portray his rioters as victims. Vance this week seemed to distinguish himself from Trump by saying violent protesters at the Capitol shouldn't be pardoned. Trump has said there might be a few exceptions where he might not pardon. FACT FOCUS: Trump's misleading claims about the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol excerpt: "CLAIM: Trump said to Biden during the debate, “What they’ve done to some people that are so innocent, you ought to be ashamed of yourself, what you have done, how you’ve destroyed the lives of so many people.” THE FACTS: Echoing Trump’s false claims of a stolen election, rioters at the Capitol engaged in hand-to-hand combat with police and a slew of rioters were carrying weapons, including firearms, knives, brass knuckle gloves, a pitchfork, a hatchet, a sledgehammer and a bow. They also used makeshift weapons, including flagpoles, a table leg, hockey stick and crutch, to attack officers. Police officers were bruised and bloodied, some dragged into the crowd and beaten. One officer was crushed in a doorframe and another suffered a heart attack after a rioter pressed a stun gun against his neck and repeatedly shocked him. One rioter has been charged with climbing scaffolding and firing a gun in the air during the melee."
Canadian Kevin O'Leary who has appeared on the Shark Tank venture capitalist TV show thinks Trump buying Canada is a great idea. 'Shark Tank' star Kevin O'Leary supports Trump's idea to make Canada the 51st US state: 'Potential is massive' excerpt: President-elect Donald Trump's interest in making Canada the 51st U.S. state is a "huge opportunity" to do "something great" on the world stage, according to "Shark Tank" star Kevin O'Leary. "I think this is a great idea, and I think the potential is massive, and the opportunity is huge," the Canadian investor said during an appearance on "America's Newsroom" on Friday. "I think at the end of the day, Canadians and Americans, their DNA is the same in terms of what they believe in… freedom."
