The Village People was sending Trump a cease-and-desist notice as late as May 2024 for using its songs without permission.

Now that he's been reelected, it's praising Trump by saying he's done so much to promote their songs.

It's one of the most sleazy positions a group could take. It's an approval of someone like Trump who has done so much to create divisiveness and blurring it with a supposed quest for national unity.

By that line of reasoning, if a serial killer was a fan of the Village People, the group can justify embracing him and performing at his execution because he did so much to publicize their songs and they want national unity and healing after his murders.

Such a ploy could just as well be used embrace a famous fascist dictator like Mussolini. Picture Mussolini dancing on stage with the Village People at a supremacist war rally with a bandage on his nose after narrowly surviving an assassination attempt.

 

The Village People could have done a counter-programming event at the time of the inauguration that praised democracy and gave people an alternative. Instead, they sold out to a person they once admonished.

It would have been a more difficult path to take and not as financially rewarding now that much of corporate America is embracing and supporting Trump with hundreds of millions of dollars instead of supporting democracy and the economically disadvantaged, including Trump's forgotten people that Trump has forgotten.

 

If Trump starts another riot at the Capitol for not getting his way, the Village People can be the supporting musical act during the riot.

The QAnon Shaman looks like he could fit right in as a member of the Village People. Add him to the group and perform at Trump's next riot.
