Another riot at the Capitol can't be ruled out. If the economy sours, Trump's followers will become very frustrated.

Trump will blame it on Congress for supposedly not giving him everything he needed to fix the economy (the one that was already doing well and handed to him peacefully at his second inauguration). Trump knows how to dupe other people into doing his dirty work, like he did with the Capitol riot.

For that matter, add the QAnon Shaman right now to the Village People. They can all perform together at Trump's inauguration.

    https://www.npr.org/2025/01/15/nx-s1-5259893/poll-trump-immigration-economy-favorability

    excerpt:

"There are a raft of confirmation hearings this week for several Trump Cabinet nominees, including Pete Hegseth, a Fox News personality whom Trump has nominated for defense secretary. Hegseth sat for his one and only day of questioning on Tuesday.

More than half of people (55%) said they don't have an opinion or are unsure of their view of him. Just 19% had a favorable opinion, while 26% had an unfavorable one."

    https://www.npr.org/2025/01/15/nx-s1-5259893/poll-trump-immigration-economy-favorability

    excerpt:

"President Biden and his campaign successor, Vice President Harris, suffered politically because of inflation, and the poll provides a grim view of Biden's presidency. Just 42% approve of the job he's doing in this final survey of his presidency, and a slim majority said as a president, he will go down as below average or worse.

It's a warning sign for Trump, too, that the economy can make or break a presidency, and leading up to his second inauguration, he has garnered more attention for his designs on Greenland, potentially annexing Canada, reclaiming the Panama Canal Zone and renaming the Gulf of Mexico the "Gulf of America," rather than serious plans for the economy."

Trump says Comcast should pay a big price because of a comment Seth Meyers made about him.

Donald Trump Threatens Comcast In Rant Over Seth Meyers' Late Night Show

    excerpt:

"Comcast is in the midst of spinning off MSNBC and other cable assets, something that may require regulatory approval. But media companies have been eyeing the Trump administration as potentially more permissive when it comes to mergers and acquisitions. During Trump’s first term, the Justice Department challenged AT&T’s merger with Time Warner, then the parent company of CNN. AT&T won the case, but a number of Time Warner executives believed that the transaction was challenged because Trump so despised the reporting of its subsidiary, CNN.

In contrast, when Fox sought to sell many of its studio assets to Disney — a horizontal transaction that eliminated competition from the landscape — the transaction sailed through in just six months."

Trump was bailed out by Hankey for the bond which a NY judge lowered from $464 million to $175 million.

The interest is still accumulating on the original $464 million and is currently at $502 million. Trump will have to successfully overturn the ruling to recover the money. Otherwise, he will have to pay the original judgment amount plus the interest. Billionaire Don Hankey of Axos wants his $175 million back from Trump eventually.

They can sing 'Macho Man' together as they beat police officers and members of Congress at a riot event to promote national unity.

Trump recreates mugshot scowl in new inauguration portrait
With one eyebrow raised and looking straight at the camera, the new image of the president-elect is just as defiant and stoic

Trump's handlers probably spent a significant amount of time coaching him on how they thought he should look for his Atlanta mugshot and again for his second presidential portrait.

In the US the recent election in living proof that the candidate that shouts lies the loudest will fool a large chunk of the citizens. It’s also proof that the “Citizens United” decision effectively sold our democracy to the highest bidder.

The inflation issue: the assertion that inflation now is very high is wildly inaccurate….a lie. As an economist I have spent decades working with economic data, I know better. Inflation for the past two years has been quite low by both historical standards and that of other industrialized economies. What is true is that grocery store prices have been heavily impacted by the outrageous attempt to fold the grocery story sector into a monopoly. Also the venture capitalist’s raid on the medical sector has shriveled Heath care in rural America. Expect a blizzard of this kind of behavior.

Wages: the reality is that wages are again rising in real terms, having recovered from the pandemic. More importantly, the oligarchs have went after unions and lowered the bargaining power of rank and file unions to share the income increases.

Distribution of Wealth: This is on going problem thanks to RR AKA Mother Theresa. The millionaires of yesterday have become billionaires and on the cusp of becoming trillionaires.WOW! That means yesterday’s millionaires will have seen their wealth increase by a factor of one million. If your made $20 dollars an hour 50 years ago you should be making 20,000,000 today…..insane. And yet the minimum wage locked in by chintzy Rs is less than $8 per hour in many states. Shame.

And yet in Alabama and Wisconsin and other states ad nauseum, the voters can’t seem to vote the foxes out of the henhouse, or see the con job. Or elect a female President, post 1890’s America gradually threw the rascals out but guess what. They are are back and have tools like ai, gadget surveillance, and unlimited campaign cash that FDR and Kennedy didn’t have to fight.

Zuckerberg is hosting a welcoming event for Trump.

The Houston Rockets owner Tilman Fertita helped set up the event. Trump selected him to be the U.S. ambassador to Italy.

GOP mega-donor Miriam Adelson will be the host. Her late husband is Sheldon Adelson who was a mega-donor to Trump.

Trump awarded Miriam Adelson the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

    https://www.opensecrets.org/news/2018/11/miriam-adelson-gets-presidential-medal-of-freedom/

    excerpt:

"NBC’s Robert Schlesinger noted that the Adelsons gave more than $20 million to Trump’s 2016 campaign, saying Trump’s decision “perfectly captures the crassly transactional nature of Donald Trump and his presidency.”

Paul Krugman of the New York Times ripped the decision, calling it an “insult to people who received the medal for genuine service.”

Between the two, the wealthy couple was the top contributor to Trump’s campaign, excluding Trump himself. They also chipped in $5 million toward Trump’s inauguration."

A friend of mine said after Trump was elected the first time 'Dont worry about him worry about the one that follows him.' My friend died before Trump was re elected . After the brief spell of a 'space filler' Trump took his chair back. I believe the one to follow Trump is Trump. Trump mk2 will be far far worse than the first version.
He will totally believe he has an unasailable mandate to finish the job he started. I say to those who, helped put him back in office 'careful what you wish for' there is a knew Nero in town.
