Nature, mountains, forests, river. I'm in British Columbia, Canada's western-most province. I started my journey by reading about East-Indian spirituality nd Zen in mid teens. The local folk-music scene was small, but it was my first introduction to a stimulating true subculture. Started playing guitar. Then there was college & university. I was in some musical groups. Chemical mind exploration. Learned & began practicing meditation techniques. The Whole Earth Catalogs and various how-to books sparked me to try my hand at organic horticulture and living out of the cities. Learned some carpentry, concrete forming, plumbing, electrical work, welding, etc. Became a freelance journalist. Got involved with forestry reform & environmental work. Participated in (and organized some) co-ops & non-profits. I get together these days with friends on Sunday morning at a local café, and we call it "church". We like having young friends as part of it. Life & Learning is a good motto. Looking forward to reading posts & to posting.
Greetings Martin! Many like minded people here, some a bit shy, but we are around. Are you gardening this year? I am working with seeds and potting soil today
Yes. There's still snow on the ground here. But we'll possibly scale back a bit with plantings. We've got maintenance & repairs to do on buildings & our water system, and that will soak up some time & energy.
I started 27 different seed varities and am waiting for the little sprouts Using a warming mat underneath to keep them at around 70 degrees. Daytimes are good, sun shines in a window upon them all. I also scored some tomato, rosemary and oregano starts at the plant store. Still expecting frosts until mid April here. Good luck with your projects! Water systems are quite finicky
