Just wondering personally; Say if you yourself were the “manager of a particular store or restaraunt or business” etc.: Where would you as a manager personally “draw the line” on say Employees using “profanities” or “colorful/flowery language at work”.?? For me, it would depend on the intent of the words or conversation maybe? Say if the person used the “N” word? Or said something “racially offensive”; Yes I would consider that an “automatic fireable offense”: But other than that, I really wouldn’t think much other reasons to fire anyone over that?? What say you?? Where would you stand as a business owner on your employees/Workers “swearing” or “using profanities” on the job???
I guess it depends on how they use it.... Like "Ah fuck I lost the deal today" compared to "FUCK YOU DAVE (Boss).... I KNOW BETTER THAN YOU" The 2nd one might have you out the door!!!
Since my business is roofing, I don't care what employees say on the roof as long as the profanities and conversations are quiet. However, I always have told employees NEVER carry on conversations next to the chimney on a job. It's like a megaphone right down into the house!!
Define "profanitie".......... we dutch curse in sickness(cancer/ect). If i am pissed(work), i can use some words people dont like, but i usally curse at the hole team/situation..........and i try to keep it civil Bit of workholic, i do get things done and my team still loves me. Mzzls
I have installed Profanity Filters on the Operator Stations. Any profanity on a live call will cause the line to disconnect. We can then replay the recordings and if the profanity originated fromt e Operator, they will be warned against using it on calls. continued use of profanity on live calls will result in termination for violation of company standards and practices. THe business requires professionalism at all times. If the incoming caller constantly swears, they will be cut off automatically and we will discuss things with the client they are calling. Operators may not engage in arguments with clients or callers.
