Trump has used the phrase 'it's all coming back' to enthuse people into thinking the U.S. will be like it was during the 1950's. The public fell for it. How Trump Betrayed the Autoworkers of Youngstown, Ohio excerpt: "Youngstown, Ohio, was once a mighty place. Steel mills hummed during much of the 20th century. The tough town, located roughly halfway between Chicago and New York, hit a population of 160,000 in 1960, with factories throbbing 24 hours a day (Aurilio grew up two blocks from one). But then the mills shut down as it became cheaper to manufacture steel overseas. Youngstown Steel announced it was closing on September 19th, 1977, throwing 5,000 employees out of work overnight. The day became known locally as “Black Monday.” Today, the town’s population is 65,000. It became a symbol of Midwestern cities sliding into oblivion with Bruce Springsteen recording the lament “Youngstown.” That is never a good sign."
Litter boxes in schools hoax - Wikipedia excerpt: "Several Republican lawmakers in the U.S. state of North Dakota sponsored legislation to prohibit schools from adopting "a policy establishing or providing a place, facility, school program, or accommodation that caters to a student's perception of being any animal species other than human".[122] In January 2024, Oklahoma representative Justin Humphrey introduced legislation that would ban students that identify as animals or who "engage in anthropomorphic behavior" from participating in school activities and allow animal control to remove the student from the premises.[123]"
Cat litter box hoax that was used unsuccessfully by GOP candidates. Litter boxes in schools hoax - Wikipedia excerpt: "In the months leading up to the 2022 United States elections, online mentions of the litter boxes in schools increased significantly as several Republican candidates repeated the hoax. It was also mentioned by talk show hosts such as Joe Rogan. Attempts by the news media to debunk false rumors were largely unsuccessful in stopping their spread.[119] Many of the prominent American politicians seeking public office who promoted the hoax were defeated in the 2022 elections.[120] Among those who promoted the hoax who were unsuccessful in seeking public office included New Hampshire candidate for U.S. Senate Don Bolduc, Colorado candidate for governor Heidi Ganahl, Illinois candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives Catalina Lauf, Minnesota candidate for governor Scott Jensen, and Maine candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives Ed Thelander. Those who had promoted the hoax and prevailed in their races included U.S. Senate candidate J.D. Vance from Ohio and incumbent U.S. Representatives Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert.[120] Virginia Chamlee of People said that Bolduc's repeating of the false claims during his political campaign may have alienated moderate voters and led to his defeat by Maggie Hassan in the race for a New Hampshire United States Senate seat.[121] "
In spite of all the complaints about inflation, people in the U.S. still have the luxury of promulgating all sorts of truth narratives and mindless political rhetoric. It seems like the U.S. needs a long, deep recession to help bring it back to reality.

Fiat and Chrysler merged in 2014 after a five-year financial intertwine, partly spawned by the Great Recession. In 2021, the already merged Chrysler and Fiat merged with the French PSA Group to form Stellantis, a multinational manufacturing company, partly due to the Covid pandemic. Stellantis has 14 brands including Chrysler and Dodge. The burden is on Trump to show the American public a solely-American car manufacturer (which somehow doesn't depend on a global web of auto parts manufacturing and assembly) and how he think he can surgically protect supposed solely-American companies without creating damage of greater extent to the automotive markets in the U.S. in general. The latest antics of Trump include his whining like a toddler that he wants Americans to buy cars from what he perceives as solely American companies and that he doesn't care if the price due to his tariff wars makes the price increase significantly.
