It really bothers me that clear into the 40's marijuana was legal in this country and it also bothers me that this country would rather let its people turn into legal alcoholics and legal prescription addicts. And it also bothers me when I remember how many (higher ups) smoke and yet they are the pillar of our communities.
Marijuana can be very beneficial to people, who cares if is for medical or not. So many Aids and other serious illness patients really could benefit from using, and although some of the states have medical marijuana, there can still be issues with the law.
And this country is suppose to be free religion and free speech but we all know how that goes.
Just thought I would jump in and tell what really gets me.

There was a study of cannabis done by big pharma funded by the United States government in the 50's to prove how bad it is. But during the study they discovered that the marijuana was shrinking cancer tumors in mice instead of doing bad things they expected. So they halted the study, sealed the findings and launched a smear campaign against the "evil weed" they labeled it out of fear of lost pharma income. I have a copy of said study somewhere, ...

As long as you don't try to preach that Marijuana is a wonder drug the CURES EVERYTHING. While many may have beneficial reactions from the use of it, Still more may have adverse reactions that could be seriously damaging and may even be fatal.

Legal or not, EVERYONE, should exercise caution when partaking. and those with serious or chronic medical conditions should 100% check with ALL of your Doctors before going out and trying it without knowing the risks.

Me ... I have had a Seizure disorder since Age 3.
After experimenting with weed, I began having Grand Mal Seziures (Tonic-Clonic) daily despite religiously keeping up the regimen of my anti-convulsion meds.
After being hospitalized and going to my Neurologist I was informed that THC does lower Intraocular Pressure, and since my seizures were photic in nature, lights that wouldn't normally induce a seizure would become problematic.Sustained or excesive seizures can result in a vegetative state or death ... Now it gets worse after having developed CAD. If I were to start experiencing sustained or daily seizures again, it could put undue strain on the cardiovascular system and cause heart failure.
After consulting with my Neurologist, My Cariophysiotherepist suggested the implantation of an ICD (Implantable Cardio-version Defibrillator).
It's a risk that is not worth taking in my estimation.

SOryr, but I won't be uploading my Medical records.

In your specific case, note that one of the very common side effects of cannabis is dilated pupils. So sure, if you have photonic generated seizures, obviously losing control of your pupils can cause issues. Just like in school.

Nobody ever said cannabis is for everyone. Again, in your case, it's not the cannabis causing the condition, nor would it be a direct cause of death, like walking in front of a speeding truck. You admitted it would take a succession of possible events to cause death.

I agree if you have a serious medical condition already being treated for and taking drugs for, then you would need to consult at least to discover any complications.

But you basically just said everyone using it should fear death.
You imply more people may have adverse reactions than benefit from the use of cannabis. Cannabis scare tactics went out with the last millennium.

True...but many people elsewhere have indeed tried to convince me it is a cure all. So I get a bit tweaked when it sounds like the narrative is edging toward Zero controls on Weed or TCH products.
Since my initial diagnosis, I've looked into people's medical conditions that might be harmed more than helped by it.
I'm not advocating bans, but I am advocating that people understand their conditions and check with their Doctors, before they dive in.

There is a popular content provider on YouTube who has been advertising his newest "Merch" he will be selling Iced Tea, but there is no FDA labeling because as he put it, "It's infused with TH...Vitamin C" and I find that irresponsible.
I've found a laundry list of conditions that "has a greater than zero" chance of being exacerbated by it. I even found a condition that affects long term users that while not imminently fatal, could cause other issues to arise by its effects.

I'm not a person who screams the end of the world at anything I find objectionable, and I don't even really find Marijuana objectionable. I just object to irresponsible use of any substance, regardless of how controversy or not it may be. I know that even legal, regulated, and non controversial substances can be abused and cause fatal effects. So I prefer to try and get people to look at anything they put in their body with healthy skepticism. The way I forgot to do early in my life.

Would a strobe light in a dark room have the same effect on you - a seizure?

If some other thing can cause your symptoms, then it's more of a personal issue, than with cannabis itself. I would never recommend it to anyone who has already had adverse effects.

Of course, many photic triggers exist and I stay away from those as well, I avoid strobing lights, I avoid areas where I might drive past trees spaced so that the sunlight flashes between them, I don't drive at night, nor do i go to bars or nightclubs that may have flashing lights and disco balls...I'm the guy walking down eh street with dark glasses and a hat with an over-sized brim.
