Another "car song" from 1963.

 

'Cause that was too short. And my first girlfriend's older sister was named Rhonda.

 

They had a ton of car songs.

My favorite Beach Boys song. They borrowed some of Chuck Berry's opening licks for this one

 

BabyLove and I worked out the lyrics below together, understanding the easy stuff and then trying to stay on theme and dialect or whatever, plus a little suggestion here and there from others. When this song first came out, some of the critics said that it was a great song! but totally unintelligible! Maybe now it's better audio products, headphones, earbuds as well as better remastering, remixing, stereo separation and all of that, so that we can understand a lot more than they could 40 or 50 years ago.

Or maybe those critics were just stupid.

So anyway, this is what we came up with....
