does type 2 diabetes shorten your life

    Google AI Overview

Yes, type 2 diabetes can shorten your life expectancy, but the extent of this shortening varies. Studies show that poorly controlled type 2 diabetes can reduce life expectancy by up to 10 years, primarily due to the increased risk of complications like heart disease and kidney failure. However, advancements in medical care and lifestyle changes can significantly improve life expectancy for people with type 2 diabetes.

    Here's a more detailed look:

Impact of Type 2 Diabetes on Life Expectancy:

    Increased Risk of Complications:
Poorly controlled type 2 diabetes can lead to serious complications like heart disease, stroke, kidney failure, nerve damage, and vision loss. These complications can significantly reduce life expectancy.

    Vascular Deaths:
A significant portion of the reduced life expectancy associated with type 2 diabetes is due to vascular deaths, including heart attacks, strokes, and aneurysms.

    Age of Diagnosis:
The earlier the diagnosis of type 2 diabetes, the greater the reduction in life expectancy. For example, a study showed that a 50-year-old diagnosed with type 2 diabetes at age 30 could have a life expectancy 14 years shorter than their peers without diabetes.

    Overall Reduction:
Estimates suggest that adults with type 2 diabetes may die, on average, six years earlier than their peers without diabetes.

    Factors Influencing Life Expectancy:

    Blood Sugar Control:
Effective management of blood sugar levels is crucial for reducing the risk of complications and improving life expectancy.

    Healthy Lifestyle:
A healthy lifestyle, including regular exercise, a balanced diet, and maintaining a healthy weight, can significantly improve life expectancy and quality of life for people with type 2 diabetes.

    Medication:
Medications can help manage blood sugar levels, blood pressure, and cholesterol, further reducing the risk of complications.

    Early Detection and Management:
Early diagnosis and proper management of type 2 diabetes can help prevent or delay the onset of complications and improve long-term health outcomes.

In summary, while type 2 diabetes can shorten life expectancy, it's not a death sentence. With proper management, including blood sugar control, healthy lifestyle choices, and medication, people with type 2 diabetes can live long and healthy lives.

So as you can see above, several things about my case are interesting, and very troubling too. If that psychiatrist just told me I had Type 2 Diabetes early on. Early on like he knew, and like all those police and many others knew full well too, while they were still trying to take away my car. And make me walk a mile in the snow to that drug store till my feet ached (if I wasn't eventually attacked or killed too, on the way). If he told me early on, and the rest of my doctors did too, I could have done something then. I can make minor changes in lifestyle, I can take a pill. I can take a lot of pills. In fact I take many medicines, as I even to those police in that other city in 2001, as they were trying to take away my car, for pouring coffee. Seriously, I did. But no, they didn't tell me that then. They told me my A1C was never better. It was better than normal even, they said. Maybe it was the fiber supplements I was taking. Now my life will surely be shortened. In fact probably shortened a lot according to that above, and with a lot of complication it also says. I guess if I had the ability to make radical changes. To exercise long hours and do things like that. But I really don't have the mental ability or time to do that. And whose fault is that? That I have to consider doing that? And plus my psychiatrist, the others (and I'm sure he must have told the police too, or could have), that I don't have the mental ability to make radical changes if I ever got full blown Type 2 Diabetes.

As I've already said, it's clear whose fault this is. It's the fault of the people who damaged me and forever shortened my life. My psychiatrist, my doctors, the police and first responders who took part in all of this, and my legal guardian too (who is still demanding I take those meds I've been told, BTW). Now, if I could afford very expensive, cutting edge, new therapies and medications for my Type 2 Diabetes, along with all other problems I have (probably some of which I am not even aware of) that would make a big difference. And I submit as my new claim that all of these people, including my legal guardian of course pay for it. Pay for the newest, most expensive, most effective diabetes and other drugs and therapies that are available. And if he and they don't, they face the legal consequences. Especially him (because he is my legal guardian, after all).Because they are the ones who got me in this situation, while they lied to me and everyone else and withheld the truth. I think that's only fair. A lawsuit could help with the other people, to get money from them. But I have no access to a lawyer, I really don't know how to do that, and officially my case doesn't even exist. And on top of all that, I will be fight this hopeless battle the rest of my life, instead of enjoying any quality of life. Because I will really never know when it's over. Even if someone some day told me it was. In fact, even if they went out of their way to prove to me with overwhelming evidence. Because people have done that in the past many times. Deceive me, by showing me what seemed to be overwhelming evidence, of something. And I've learned just not believe it.
