Does anyone have any experience with 5-Methyl-N,N-dimethyltryptamine (5-Me-DMT)? I ran across this in a chem supplier a little while ago and have had a hard time finding anything about it. It was listed as "non-consumable" but its CAS number was the same as DMT. It was the N,N-dimethyltryptamine that initially attracted my attention. It has a methyl group substituted for the methoxy, so I would think that it may be longer lasting, but may require a greater quantity. Anyone know anything about this? ***DISCLAIMER*** Nothing stated in previous, current, or subsequent messages or postings should be construed as evidence of previous, current, or future intent to violate, or any violation of, any federal, state, or local laws. In 2002 Shulgin writes: <FONT face=veradna size=3><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: Verdana, arial, geneva">This is a very good question about a compound that is virtually unknown. N,N-Dimethyltryptamine (DMT) has a hydrogen atom at the indole 5-position, and it is a very well known and broadly studied material. Two additional 5-substituted dimethyltryptamines are also well known; these are bufotenine with an HO- group (a hydroxy group) and 5-MeO-DMT with a MeO- group (a methoxy group) at this position. The compound that you are asking about has a Me- group there (a methyl group) and it has been abbreviated as either 5-Me-DMT or 5,N,N-TMT (5,N,N-trimethyltryptamine).
Alright, that didn't post quite properly, let me link it: http://www.cognitiveliberty.org/shulgin/adsarchive/5Me_DMT.htm Shulgin's response ^^^^^ From the DMT faq: 5-Me-DMT is a close relative of DMT. 5-Me-DMT is reported to be about 4 times as potent as DMT and is often regarded as preferable to DMT. 5-Me-DMT has most of the psychedelic qualities as DMT but does not cause visual hallucinations. It follows the same time course.
Thanks for the info man.
