No, a picture of the KKK.
I don't judge people by the political party they belong to. One of my neighbors and friend worked in the State House of Representatives for the Republican party for 35 years, is still a registered Republican, and is appalled by Trump and his followers.

Yes, it isn't 1905 anymore, the Democratic Party is now the party of truth and justice and the MAGA republicans are now the ones promoting raids by masked men.

Two days ago a masked man shot and killed Democratic Minnesota state representative Melissa Hortman and her husband in their home and wounded Democratic State Sen. John Hoffman and his wife in their home.

The shooter was dressed in a police uniform and wearing a mask.

    Welcome to Amerika.

Sooooo you don't "Judge people by the political party they belong to" but the Democrats are "the party of truth and justice" got it.

    From MSN-
Boelter served on a state board with Hoffman, records show. In 2019, Walz put Boelter on the Governor’s Workforce Development Board – a group of business owners who recommend policies to the state government. In a letter, Walz said the post was in recognition of Boelter’s “integrity, judgment, and ability.”

I can't say I'm surprised. After all-- Some of Walt's best friends were School Shooters.

Exactly. You see the Republican party picked Trump as their presidential candidate, not every individual registered Republican agreed with that choice.
The Republican party picked a documented serial liar, felon, and sexual predator.
The party as a whole made the choice to embrace conspiracy theories, anti science, violence, and a populist candidate who epitomizes all of the above.
I pointed out that not all Republicans support this current mess.

The Democratic party chose a career criminal prosecutor who was never convicted of a felony, is not a serial liar, nor a sexual predator.
I didn't say all Democrats support truth and justice, just the party as a whole.
Certainly there are corrupt Democrats such as former was a Democratic senator Bob Menendez who was forced to resign after being convicted of political corruption.
The Democratic party didn't select him as their candidate for president.

In fact if you remember, or maybe you never knew, Democratic Senator Al Franken, who was one of the original cast members and writers on Saturday Night Live, a comedy, was forced from office by the Democrats for pretending to touch a women's breasts as a joke.
The Democratic party didn't select him as their candidate for president.
So what? Walz reappointed Boelter in 2019 to a workforce development advisory board. So he's supposed to know the future?

    The MSN article goes on:
Which of Waltz's best friends were school shooters?
I know you're referring to a remark he made during the vice presidential debate, but you're just being ridiculous.
Can't you defend your views any better than that?

Yes, The Democrat Party chose Harris, They certainly didn't leave the voters choose.

LOL. I'm being ridiculous?? Waltz said this in a national televised debate. Don't blame me, those were his words.

I must say, it is most interesting to hear what you have to say.

Yes, the Democratic party choose Harris. That's how it works, that's how it has worked for 197 years when the modern Democratic party emerged from Thomas Jefferson's Democratic-Republican Party.

I'd go into an in depth explanation of how candidates are chosen...but you can look that up yourself.
In short, there is no final popular vote by the voters, it all comes down to who the 4,700 delegates choose.
I'm no longer surprised when MAGA proponents pick and choose how they will interpret statements made by politicians.

So let's look at his comment in context:
Of course the MAGA crew likes to pull that one sentence out of context and claim, without any evidence as usual, that Waltz has friends that are "school shooters".
Do they present any evidence? Of course not. They jump on a misspoken phrase and twist it to their liking.

Note that Waltz's comment is treated like it's something that is true, it doesn't matter that Waltz says that he meant to say he is friends of the parents of the victims, or the lack of evidence that he has friends that shot up schools, or names of these "friends". They just twist his misstatement for political gain and repeat it ad nostrum hoping everybody then accepts it as true.

Be that as it may...why are you talking about Waltz anyway?
This thread is about the L.A. protests, not Tim Waltz.
But you have gone from claiming that maybe Trump was trying to stop violence in the streets by sending in the National Guard and 700 Marines
To the police department caries live ammunition, just like the National Guard and 700 Marines.
To stating your utmost confidence in the US Armed Services.
To claiming without evidence that Trump requested and was denied the National Guard to be there for Jan 6th.(Remember that option was discussed but never acted upon, no request was made and it's irrelevant anyway as he never called them into action on Jan. 6.)
Then you questioned why didn't Newsome want help to stop the rioters? and asked why he (was) content to watch the city burn?
When I pointed out that the city wasn't burning, the riot was confined to an extremely small area and was put under control by the LAPD before Trump sent in his shock troops, you segued into asking if detaining/ arresting illegal immigrants is unnecessary? Something that wasn't in question in this thread.

This got us into why ICE wears masks. Okay that has something to do with the thread.
And I explained why people are upset about ICE wearing masks and posted a picture of KKK members wearing masks in an attempt to illustrate one of the reasons people are upset.
This allowed you to claim all the KKK members in the photo were Democrats, and insinuate that all modern Democrats are KKK members I suppose.

(Excuse me for posting this long explanation but I need to clarify how we got here.)

Soooo, I had to explain to you that the modern Democratic party did not nominate a documented serial liar, felon, and sexual predator for president. But the Republicans did.
And I had to explain that there are individuals in both parties that don't agree with the two parties' choice of candidates.

And here's where we go off the rails.
For some reason you then claim that Tim Waltz, a Democrat, because he made an error in speaking, is friends with people who shoot up schools.
And now you have sidetracked us into a discussion of how presidential candidates are chosen and a statement by Tim Waltz; both which have nothing to do with the L.A. protest.

    Slick.

So you're saying Waltz can't put a clear sentence together. Great choice for a VP Candidate.

Yes. I understand the Democrat Party is under no obligation to follow the wishes of the voters. They can coronate whomever they want.

    Great choice they made.

Yes, as I said I was responding to an earlier post in this thread.
We'll have to continue this delightful conversation at a later date as I'll soon be flying over the Gulf of America to parts unknown.

Maybe they'll send you to El Salvador. They've got some great new hotels, I mean prisons you might want to visit.
