Ya everyone has a right to choose, but there will always be rape scenes and murder scenes in movies.
I know one thing, I don't get horny watching rape but it doesn't bother me either. It's a movie! And yea don't say it happens in real life, cause thats not what this topic is about.

The rape scene in Hills was nothing....the most disturbing rape scene I caught was in a movie called Boys Dont Cry.....maybe because it was a true story...but the rape scene in Boys haunted my mind for a long time.

I Spit on Your Grave and The Last House on the Left definatly dont glorify the rape scenes, and they are VERY hard to watch.

Thank you. It is horrific on a whole different level. I want to watch horror movies to be delightfully freaked out, not to be so emotionally disturbed I could cry.

Jesus, I don't believe you said they are hard to watch. I thought thats your kinda flick. I Spit on Your Grave and The Last House on the Left are excellent movies but I sure don't find them hard to watch in the least.
Pretty tame shit if you ask me, but no movies offend me or freak me out.

Haha man, cmon, those are some pretty intense movies, they make you feel pretty dirty, but ive seen all that shit man... August Underground, Cannibal Holocaust, those movies are way more intense but the violence is forced almost, im not sure how to explain this? I feel that the violence is more justified and serves more of a purpose in I Spit and Last house, while in Cannibal Holocaust and August Underground its meant to be the entertainment.

Maybe the people who walked out on it had a bad experience of rape. That scene pissed me off ALOT, but it wouldn't make me walk out of the theatre. That scene did make me want to torture, skin, break bones, set on fire, behead, and then finally kill that guy though!!! But yea, R rated movies you should expect cruel things to happen.

My girlfriend and I are on a mission of finding movies that depict Male-Male rape for a project she is doing for a woman studies film class. I know, I know, but its a pretty good idea though.

Anyway- the only two I could think of was Deliverance and Pulp fiction, and other movies were boys are raped by men, but I need adult on adult type stuff. If anyone has any ideas about this please let me know.

mtyankeeboy: That's just nasty but American History X fits the bill. Women's studies is basically a BS Feminazi course.

I think the news is more R-rated....and as Vincent Price used to say: "REALITY is the real horror!"

Yup, seen it LONG time ago. Really chilling and well done. I've not seen The Hills Have Eyes (maybe bits and pieces).

But the rape scene that's stuck with me the most since 1976 - was when I saw Lipstick, when it first came out in the theater, starring Margaux Hemingway. Anyone seen that one? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0074802/

The Shaming or Good Luck Miss Aycoth. Featured an old schoolteacher (Ann Heywood) being raped by a Black janitor. The thing about it was she enjoyed and sent another man to have him come back.

    I cannot stop laughing.
Film production companies both exaggerate and make these stories up all the time.
For every person they frighten off, at least ten rush out to watch the film.

There is certainly no such thing as bad publicity, but critics can make or break a production.
