ive got a trojan down load i seem to be chaseing around my temp files and im illiterate pls help??????!!!!!!
Try clicking on Tools -> Internet Options, and click on Delete Temporary Internet Files (and check the "all offline content" box). Then grab a virus scan at Trend Micro...if it can't clean it, just delete it.
get ahold of a firewall www.zonealarm.com has a free one, then no program can access the internet unless you say it can
i have pc gardien dont know how it got by it i must have it disabled or somthing my freind told me she just had somthing like at her comp. and had to get techs to come and fix it

have you run spyware scans and such, with adaware and spybot? what about a full virus scan? delete all temp files?
man i appreiciate all your help! i have deleted all temp files. i run scans and when it says virus detected i use the dis infect or move to quarentine nothing is going to quarinting so i am assuming its getting obliterated i have sent numerus files to quarintien and then cleard them i am still having probs. with trojan downloader.win.32 agent.ji and trojan-clicker.win32.vb ex i am also not sure if i nam using my scan prop. i run check my comp. does that check it all or do i have to run a separet for files and folders i have boomerang pc gardiune i was also told to shut off my restore i can get there but it does not seem to give me the op. of shut down i have win. me. it seems as though i have gotten rid of some infected files but its still in c:/_restore/ temp that is the clicker and downloader oh by the way trotsky is that springfeild mass ?you look familiar do you go to creek shows? its been a long time since i have
Try using a-squared. It's one of the better trojan detection/removal tools around. Here's the link to the free version. http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/free/ Let me know if it is able to detect and remove the trojan.
sorry man, it's springfield MO. your scans seem to be picking things up in your system restore, to disable it, and delete all the restore points, right click 'my computer' and go to properties. then go to the 'system restore' tab. there should be a box to check for 'turn off system restore on all drives' do that, it will say something about deleting restore points....let it do that or whatever, and then you can leave it off, or turn it back on, but it will have gotten rid of all the restore points; so the trojans in them should be gone also. then run spyware/virus scans, make sure your definitions are up to date.
well i have to say to both of you trotsky and zero i very mutch app. all the help you have given me! none has yet been able to remove the trojan i have only been using comp. since new year so i think i will just clear it and reinstall the whole thing i wont lose mutch i app. all your help hope you keep it rolling in mo. keep the peace man you to zero i hope i can call on ya both againg when i get so totaly confussedddd
if you haven't already formated it, get ahold of 'HijackThis' [it's free] direct download link here: http://www.merijn.org/files/hijackthis.zip run that, and have it save a log file. post that log file here, it will show every running process, and some other things. might help us figure out what's goin on.

i thank you i will do that as soon as i can gain my paitions or how ever ya spell it back i have run a-2 adware boomerang in the scans it comes up then i either try to clean it it says no can do so i clear it and the next scan its still there i have del. all temp files more than once but i cant find away to shut off my restore i will run hijackthis on tue and let ya know i realy do appreiciate your help thank you
well i have lookd numberes times my com.... no restore tab i have looked hard to find away to turn it off i have had others look who are at least more familiar whith comp. i swear it does not allow me the option of shuting it down. i have been still chasing it for a while i did the a-2 adware, my primary protection is boomerang pc security witch is suposted to be fire wall, viruse protection, worm killer, it was given to me by a freind but it was the original cd. i just did a scan with it and it finaly comes clean but i have a bunch of ^$&^ in quarantine. and i know if i do another it will come dirty whith the same i have been chaseing i did the hijack this but could not figure out how to post it here . i am afraid to clear qtein it seems its all still in restore/temp thanks yralrght!
i do have the restor cds and i dont have much on this comp only been playing since new years i am thinking i should just start from scrach take my lumps and do better this time what do you think? if so what is your best recomondation for all around security package?
Personally, I run McAfee, Norton, and Trend Micro virus scanners/firewalls, and in addition to that ZoneAlarm Pro and Lavasoft Adwatch...I still get virii, but unless you plan on putting down some money on something like Black Ice that's about the best you can do. If you've got a CD burner, just backup what you need and reformat the drive...sometimes it's just not worth the trouble. I've had this 120 GB for about 5 months already and I've already reformatted the sucker 10 times or so. I have yet to lose any sacred data, thanks to a regular back-up schedule.
hey! happy st. pattys day! i want to thank you all for your help i dont realy know what i did but i got a clean scan thismorn. still got a bunch in quarantien i guess i wasnt useing my tools prop but i do appreiciate all your help trotsky,zero,eat some, id love to with the right pepole! its cornd beef and cabbage to night! no beer though. waaaawaaaa
