Had a wonderful time in Mexico, eh? Nice pictures I like the swings out over the water... we need those here! Where was this? It is a big country My guess is somewhere on the Caribbean? Glad you made it to paradise for a minute
Wonderful! I have had a great time there way back when in '78. What a beautiful place, so tranquilo bus rides forever, but that's how we got around.
It's more like warm soft bread. They call it French toast but as we know it in the UK. It's bread soaked in milk and gently warmed. It's more like fresh cake that's still warm. Really really tasty.
Here in Mexico 'French Toast' is great! Eggs and milk make a batter, usually with cinnamon. Soak the bread slices in it until really soft, then fry in a pan. The piles of fresh fruit and syrup make it truly awesome
I make mine with eggs, cream, brown sugar, vanilla and cinnamon, sauteed in a decent amount of butter. No one in my family, except me, likes syrup so for them I would sprinkle it with powdered sugar. It's delicious either way.
I never eat it without the syrup. It took me a while to get used to the real stuff, as a kid I had only had the "pancake syrup" that's basically just flavored corn syrup. Now I don't even keep that stuff in the house. Not that I have a house now, lol, but I don't keep it in my camper either.
