Trump wins his suit against CBS like he did ABC. Paramount, CBS forced to pay eight figures, change editorial policy in settlement with President Trump
The Wall Street Journal has highly edited its interviews with Trump to make him look coherent, including one in 2016 when he was running for president. Someone leaked the 2016 WSJ interview transcript that showed the extent to which Trump's brain is scrambled. WSJ and Fox should be forced to abide by the type of agreement CBS and ABC reached with Trump.
Disgraced TV evangelist Jimmy Swaggart has died at age 90. Trump posted a tribute to him on his social media.
Swaggart is known for his prostitution scandals. After he got caught with a prostitute, he did an act on one of his shows with fake tears rolling down his face and crying out loudly that he had sinned. A while later, he was caught with another prostitute.
Jimmy Swaggart - Wikipedia excerpt: "Swaggart was known for scandals involving prostitutes and revolutionary groups accused of war crimes in southern Africa. One prostitution scandal gave rise to a televised February 21, 1988, speech by Swaggart known as his "I have sinned" speech. After Swaggart was defrocked by the Assemblies of God due to sexual immorality, he moved on to become a non-denominational minister."
People For The American Way made a commercial showing Swaggart on stage waving a Bible in the air and yelling "This is the Constitution of the United States!" Swaggart was furious at the commercial and mentioned Norman Lear. On one of his shows he told Lear angrily and sarcastically to go ahead and keep showing his mugshot on TV. It was expected that Trump would applaud Swaggart after his death.
Murkowski had opposed the budget bill along with Paul, Collins, and Tillis. She changed her mind after being offered goodies for her state of Alaska, which was just enough for the bill to pass with the tie-breaking vote of Vance. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/interactive/2025/07/01/senate-big-beautiful-bill-vote-count/
https://www.nytimes.com/2025/07/01/...enators-no-vote-bill-collins-paul-tillis.html excerpt: "A fourth Republican who had been vocal about her concerns about the measure’s Medicaid and food assistance cuts, Senator Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, withheld her vote until the very end of negotiations on the bill. Had she joined the trio in opposition, the measure would have failed. But G.O.P. leaders stuffed the legislation full of benefits for her state, including provisions to exempt or insulate her constituents from the most painful cuts. After what she called an “agonizing” round of haggling with party leaders, she ultimately voted yes."

How Republicans got Murkowski to yes on Trump's megabill excerpt: "But Murkowski — at times wrapped in a blanket or carrying around legislative text and pen to her colleagues — was able to extract key concessions for her state as she huddled on the floor with leadership, staff and fellow Alaska GOP Sen. Dan Sullivan. She won victories on clean energy tax credits, delaying changes to food aid for her state and the promise of massive revenues from oil and gas drilling leases, among other priorities she can take back home. In the end, she voted for a bill that makes up the core of her party’s domestic agenda."
https://www.politico.com/news/2025/05/20/alina-habba-new-jersey-prosecutor-00360470 excerpt: Five days after taking office, Habba, outfitted in a bulletproof vest, attended a raid in Newark, personally escorting some of the defendants to law-enforcement vehicles after they had been handcuffed. The move raised eyebrows in the legal community, both because it is highly unusual for a U.S. attorney to attend an arrest and because her presence could have legal consequences. “All in all, it’s probably better if our prosecutorial chiefs do not do that just for appearances sake,” said Stephen Gillers, a professor at New York University law school who specializes in legal ethics. He added that “as U.S. attorney, her conduct in the field may be subject to investigation or challenge by the defense lawyers, and it’s best to avoid that if possible.”

Under intense pressure, House must now decide if Trump's bill is good enough excerpt: "But it may be a tough pill for some House Republicans to swallow. It includes massive new funding -$70bn - for Trump's immigration priorities. It boosts defence spending and makes the tax cuts Republicans passed in Trump's first term permanent. To offset this loss, it cuts funding for Biden-era environmental programmes and Medicaid, the health insurance programme for low-income Americans. The financial ledger isn't nearly balanced, however, as the package adds more than $3tn to the federal debt and raises the US borrowing authority by $5tn."
