this scottish band is terrific. i'd like to get my hands on the albums 'boy w/ the arab strap' and 'if you're feeling sinister'...i only have select songs from those. Dear Catastrophe Waitress does not have a bad song on it though..discuss...
If You're Feeling Sinister is truly a classic. The Boy With The Arab Strap is also pretty awesome, but not as much as IYFS. I think Tigermilk is better than Arab Strap, personally. All of their albums have at least halfway decent songs, including all of the eps, which are numerous (Lazy Line Painter Jane, This Is Just A Modern Rock Song, etc). I disagree though, I think the first six songs of Dear Catastrophe Waitress are absolutely outstanding, and the last six are mediocre to poor by their standards. They're great live too, if you ever get the chance.
I bought The Boy With the Arab Strap a few months ago. It's one of my favourite albums of all time. I've been completely in love with Belle and Sebastian, since I heard them mentioned on High Fidelity. I think I'll try to get Dear Catastrophe Waitress on ebay, as I've heard good things about it. Yay for Belle and Sebastian
my favorite song is 'if you're feeling sinister', i also like 'loneliness of a middle distance runner', 'stay loose', and 'judy and the dream of horses', only one of those is on Dear Catastrophe Waitress...though i do still say that i like that whole album.
wow, so a friend of mine introduced me to belle and sebastian last night - just WOW. they are so awesomely amazingly great. I adore the song 'mayfly', and he also put 'like dylan in the movies' and 'judy and the dream of horses' on there which are fantastic too. so yes, i'm converted
